I thought they were going to mess up the victory formation, they haven't had much experience in that formation.

Quote:I'm not so much concerned with draft order, as I am... not as thrilled about the win because it shouldn't have been nearly as close as it was.  The way the Titans played... even as bad as we've been, we should have won by more than 2 points.  To me that doesn't bring hope.  The tacks were absolutely garbage today.

We beat the Titans today by 10+ points, and I'd be really excited about it.

I hear ya, about woulda's and shoulda's...  But with the team we've put together, a win is a win.  The flaming bowling ball looked bad today, but I think we can sleep well knowing WE made them look this bad.  The espn idiots on the radio for the last week were saying that the tacks were a sleeper.  Well guess what...  We tucked them in nice and tight and created a nightmare for them.... I love it, don't care what the final score said, it wasn't even that close.  OK, maybe I'm a bit high off this win, but we controlled them.  We actually go out and get some help on the O-line and a decent QB, we're right there in this division.

Quote:Total team victory.  The offense had a great 1st half, then the D put up 9 points in the 2nd half when the O did nothing.  Special teams was special all day, with good returns, good coverage, downing the punt at the 1, Scobee hitting 2 FG, etc.

Gus played it too conservative in the 2nd half on offense, and the prevent D in the last 4 minutes should have lost us the game.  They finally dialed up the pressure, and Will Blackmon's takeaway TD was brilliant.  Definitely the game winning play, but the whole defense deserves the game ball, IMO.  Gus relied on them for the win and they delivered.  The offense needs work.

Agreed!  :thanks:

Quote:The real value of this win is that it adds substance to Gus Bradley's mantra. Now the head coach can say to the players "See? If you concentrate on improving, good things will eventually happen".

Can't argue with this.  I've been fairly critical of Bradley, but this game was nice.  It was a grinder with the D not showing any quit.  If our D is gonna play like this moving forward, we'll be contenders.  Of course we need more play-makers, but that comes from Caldwell.  He needs to continue to hit on his player selections.

Quote:Turnover ratio is a good indicator of inspired play. It's hard to play inspired football when you are 0-8 with nothing to play for but pride. Kudos to the team for that.

The thing about turnovers is some people always consider it a gift from a poor offense without giving credit to good defensive effort. A fumbled punt return, for instance, is a gift. A forced fumble from a bone-jarring hit is a take-away. I didn't see any gifts by the tacks today.

The bolded must be emphasized.  WE TOOK this game.  It wasn't given to us.  That's what I liked about the Jags this Sunday!!!
Quote:I like how everyone has on aviators and the girl in the background has hers shades off staring at them wondering why hers aren't also aviators.
She looks pretty disappointed in them glasses. She wanted to be a part of the cool crowd, but no one gave her the aviator notice.
Quote:Don't kid yourselves. All joking aside, there are always plenty of very nice looking women at tacks games.

The wags of the players?

I originally thought they all had aviators on because they had black eyes. I mean, after all, they are in Tennessee.

Why don't you have a seat over there...
Quote:Despite Henne trying to give the game away, we won. It is nice to be off the snide but ouch that was a tough second half offensively.

LOL, was this the first Jags game you've seen in the last 2 years?  Every half is a tough half to watch, offensively.
Sorry to say that if that was a Jaguars home game, the stands would be empty because almost everyone would have already left.

It was sweet. Loving every minute of it. Shut up the Jaguar jokers. We beat a bad team? So what. We are a bad team. It's a win!
