You said it for me. You used Gator fans as an example. I replied to that.
I for one root for Alabama come bowl season. I want the SEC to do well as a whole. Why that is a bad thing to some is beyond me. The SEC got to where it is because Iron sharpens Iron. I don't think it's a negative to hope that teams in your conference do well. It raises the level of play in conference that much more. It's all about competition, it makes everyone better.

Actually my experience has been that Gator fans are the worst. My brother is UT fan and has been to Gainesville for games...classless rednecks that never set foot on campus as a student make up 80% of their "fans"

Hype sharpens hype...bring on playoffs...this beauty pageant crap is soooo old. I'm glad every other sport in existence has a legitimate way of determining champions.

Can not wait for the playoffs myself. The bowl system has given credence to the SEC when it comes to iron sharpening iron. Proof is in the pudding. Over the last 15 years no conference has won more games, 73, or National Titles. The SEC doesn't get the easy early bowl opponents either. It's always good, quality games.
There are also only 3 conferences with winning bowl records over the course of the last 15 seasons. The SEC is the only BCS conference out of those conferences w/winning records.

Still perception....too many teams not even given a chance. How many championships would Florida have in basketball if it was run like football? NONE...because they never would have the oppurtunity to compete for one. College football BCS a bunch of bunk run with bias...greed...and perception...its a good ole boys club...they only play each other for those "tough" wins and "reasonable" losses..so there's nothing to compare.

Well, since the gators suck and look like they will for a while longer, you can be just like the other bottom dwellers of the SEC wearing your SEC pride. At least it gives you something to root for. Might as well start getting your alabama gear now.
