Quote:Why are they idiots? At least they go to the game and voice their displeasure for a 0-7 team. Would you rather them stay at home?

They're idiots because the only purpose the bags serve is to give lazy media types on opportunity to fixate on those individuals as representative of an entire fan base. They're certainly entitled to express their opinion, but it conveys the wrong message and does nothing to influence the team. If they really wanted to send a message, just stay home. That would make more of a statement the team would respond to.
How are the paper bags allowed in the stadium? They don't comply with NFL policy.

Or show your support still by wearing jags gear ,but always all in black to show your dissapoinent in team. You don't ever stop supporting your team no matter how bad it looks.

I think the bags show that as much as we love this team, the constant losing is unacceptable. It's time for the team to do their part as the fans have done theirs. I can see how you believe it sends the wrong message, I just disagree.

Wearing a paper bag on your head shows that?

That's how I read it, yes. Everybody is going to read it differently, nothing wrong with that. I think it's a better answer than not showing up, by far.
At least they are going to the games and voicing their displeasure. I don't get the "cheer my team no matter what" mentality. It's like congratulating your kid for getting an F on a test. Hey Billy...good job on your test. Just keep trying. If a fan wants a bag on their head to show how utterly disgusted they are at this "NFL" team, then let them do it. This team doesn't deserve the blind cheering and ataboys that some want to give. Fans are allowed to boo. For crying out loud, fans are the reason these jokers make money. It's incredible that there are as many people willing to spend money on the crap product they throw out there week to week.

*disclaimer...my avatar is not me and I have never worn a bag on my head. Too claustrophobic for that.

I understand the point you are making, but wouldn't staying home give the lazy media types ample opportunity to fixate on individuals as representative of an entire fanbase, too?

The perception that Jacksonville doesn't support the Jaguars isn't new.
Quote:Your intentions certainly would've been more appropriate than mine. Relocation and attendance talk in general irritates the hell out of me. :yucky:

Well, it irritates me too, as does the Tebow talk, especially from people who aren't fans of this team trying to impose him onto us using attendance and relocation as justification.

What started out as a rebuttal to Tebow turned into attendance talk.

Had I a firmer grasp of the comparative attendance numbers, I might have suggested the Bolts sign Tebow after pointing out the disparity.

That might have been antagonistic.

Fans are allowed to boo and should be able to do so freely. It is an excellent way to show your displeasure. But wearing a bag on your head makes a person look like an attention craving idiot.

Question: Do non negative expressions of fanhood make fans look like attention craving idiots?

At Jaguars games, I've seen a woman dressed in a cat suit with cat ears with face painted in Jaguars spots, I've seen a teal and black version of Darth Maul, I've seen guys with "D" and a "fence" props. There is also a guy who is photographed who wears a foam "cathead" who has his face painted, too.

At Broncos games, Barrel man is a famous fan known for wearing only a barrel with the Broncos colors and logo.

The Skins had their "hogettes" for years (I understand they recently "retired").

If so, should all fans dress alike for games?
Quote:Personally I have no problem with people if they want to wear bags. The only problem I have with it is that it continues to portray Jacksonville as a backwoods hick town.

It was funny and original 30 YEARS AGO.

Is Detroit a backwoods hick town?

according to him, that would be affirmative.

Of course it would.

My point is that by wearing the bags, they're not going to have the desired impact. If their intent truly is to send the team a message, but they still buy tickets and show up, they're failing. The team realized the product on the field is terrible without the bagsters. But, it's not going to influence anything they're doing now.

Was or is Detroit EVER known as a backwoods hick town?

And rightly so if bolt fans were trying to run attendance smack.
I am more concerned about how many Charger fans that were there yesterday.

Eh.. Lett'em wear bags.. Who cares.. This team has been the butt of every national media joke for a while now.. No need to get your panties in a twist over it all.. Yes its stupid in my opinion, but at least they're buying the tickets to help keep this team here in the long run.. That's the important thing..
Chad Henne trying to avoid the pass rush is a pathetic sight. They got to him almost every time they blitzed with his stone feet.

I didn't get the sense these fans (a husband and wife) were "running smack."

She stated her rationale for for the Jaguars signing Tebow.

They spoke glowingly about the stadium, and I didn't even tell them about the new videoboard going up within the next couple of years.
