I think that Mr Kahn knows this is a process and a down year is part of that process. It will set us up in the draft and continue to build for the future.
Quote:I know I catch flak from all my non-Jaguar friends (if they're non-Jaguar are they really friends) after every loss and even after bad plays. I had two texts from Detroit guys after the pick 6 this Sunday. I can't imagine how Shad feels, I contemplate changing my phone number sometimes.
yeah, thats bad when
Detroit fans are busting on you.... no offense to D6

He's not a fan so I doubt he feels the same you do.

Shad is feeling pretty good on his boat :woot:
Quote: is as embarrassed about this team(?) as most Jag fan's are????????
Why would a Jags fan be embarrassed about this team? Seriously. I know they're bad, but we aren't responsible.
In fact, maybe we should be proud. Not proud of the team, proud of ourselves. It's a heck of a lot harder to be a Jags fan than to be a Broncos fan. So why would a Broncos fan be proud? He isn't even remotely responsible for the Broncos being a great team. All he does is buy a ticket. What's so hard about that? Now we, on the other hand, continue to support a team that is one of the worst in recent memory. That's hard to do. We should be prouder as fans than any other fans.
I personally don't experience much trash talk about me being a Jaguars fan. I don't personally know any other Jaguars fan in my area but most people I know don't hate on them or dislike them. It's more like a Pirates situation. People feel bad for them when they are doing bad but when they finally get good again everyone loves them.
The team has increased in value an estimated $70 million since he bought the team less than two years ago. I am sure he is very embarrassed.
Khan is playing the ultimate game of fantasy football, except that his team being formed is real. Sure, he is somewhat embarrassed by their play and record this year. But, also recognizes that a poor year was likely and expected with a new rebuilding process underway. I don't think walking into an owner's meeting with half the attendees expressing pity to him upon greeting him being fun. The earlier post indicating Khan is not a fan is completely incorrect; he is the ultimate fan.
If Mr. khan wants to experience embarrassment he will pay someone to do it for him.

I really doubt any owner expresses pity to him.

I bet Khan's really mad he didn't just let autopick do it's magic instead of keeping Gene Smith.
He lurks this forum. His handle is SpecialK
Khan hired Caldwell who made it clear that he'd take a patient, build through the draft approach. They both knew this season would be ugly.
Embarrassed? No. Eager to see improvement? Yes.
I'm sure he knew the team would not be successful this year but I doubt he believed they would not even be competitive. He's bound to harbor the same frustrations as the rest of us.
He said when he bought the team the other owners told him when the Jags come to their cities the attendance is the lowest of the season. Khan then said he wanted the Jags to be the hottest ticket in town, any town. In this vein, I think he might be embarassed.

They were competitive in the 2 games this season that weren't against legit SB contenders like the other 3 games were.
No, I doubt he's embarrassed because he's plugged in with the plan, and understands better than fans do that this is a process, and that it's going to require patience.
Frustrated? No doubt. We all are. But embarrassed? Probably not.

We certainly have different definitions of competitive.

You disagree that the Jags were "competitive" in the Rams and Raiders games?
Both were road games, and one was decided by 10 points, and the other game had the Jags in the lead for a good portion of the game.
No. Have you seen this roster? It's to be expected. Roster is so scarce of talent. Caldwell spelled this out for him.
Quote:Doesn't the bus station close?
It saddens me greatly that there are hundreds of thousands of people and children living like this and the masses haven't a clue.
It isn't a judgment, and I'm sure your wonderment is genuine.
There is a whole culture of homeless people, some the type you think about from the movies, many who aren't and just hope to maintain some dignity while praying for their next meal.
Crazy stuff. If you know any of those people, or were once one of "them" yourself, you can appreciate Shad that much more.
