I said it in the other thread, but Schaub is clearly the guy holding the texans back. How they didn't see it after their wildcard weekend game against the Bengals last January I don't know, but they're never going to win a superbowl with him at QB and guys they depend on like Andre Johnson are only getting older. Soon they'll have missed their turn and their roster will only be good enough for a bunch of 8-8 seasons as they fail to find a QB.

They should have signed Freeman.

The fans are in full meltdown mode:

They should be. They're the 2007 Jaguars.
Put Keenum in!!

I called this in the offseason... Schaub wasn't ever an elite QB... and he is definitely on his decline. They should draft a QB this year, there will be plenty to choose from and they'll be back challenging the clots for the division. Meanwhile, if the tacks get something a little better at QB, they will likely keep us in the celler while we rebuild...

It was clear to anyone that can separate the performance of the player from the performance of the guys around him that Schaub is the weak link on an otherwise excellent overall roster.

The tacks have a much stronger roster right now. Even though Locker is almost on the Gabbert level of badness they'll still be better than the Jaguars over the next year or so.

The good news is that once we get a franchise QB we'll shoot past them.
Texans should have brought in Freeman

But hey, they still have those neat lettermen jackets!
Things just got even worse for the Texans:

Owen Daniels to miss 4-8 weeks with fractured fibula

So if the Jaguars get Bridgewater next year how many years do the texans spend at the bottom of the AFCS? They've got JJ Watt and he's going to keep them winning 7 or 8 games for a while, stopping them from getting an elite QB prospect. They'll be the Jaguars of the 2003-2007 period all over again. Never a shot at really winning the division but always winning just enough to make sure they can't draft difference makers.

Unless one of the Texans backup QB's turns out to have much more upside potential than expected,     they could indeed be dealing with the worst QB situation in the AFC South by next season.    One way or the other,   the Texans are probably going to have to address their QB situation in a major fashion sometime in the next 2 years.      What compounds their problems is Andre Johnson is already in his 11th season.      The window with their current core group of players likely has closed already.
The Texans should draft Manziel next spring. If anything, he would help sell some tickets and make their games more exciting.

They still appear so bush league for doing that!

Hopefully they'll be just good enough to keep safely out of the Jameis Winston sweepstakes in a few years...

Thats actually not a bad idea. Makes sense on several levels.

Sounds familiar.

The parallels of Manziel to the Texans and Tebow to the Jaguars are striking.

I'm telling you, he's a cross between Flutie and Leaf.

The Texans could certainly use their version of Ryan Leaf.

So could the Colts.

I loved the comment in the comment section: "at least when a Raiders or 49ers fan does this, they have some success in their history to account for the crazyness.....it's like all of a sudden, the Texans have become the Eagles"..... Laughing Laughing

Great line ripping both teams fans and both teams.
Texans already looking forward to next year's draft
