It appears so. I've seen all his games from draftbreakdown.com and I don't see him take many, if any, snaps from under center. It's not a big deal though. His footwork in his drop isn't a problem. Resetting his feet after he's moved off his initial drop is what he needs to work on.

He can do both. Extremely adaptable. His first years in college, played in a pro-set the whole time under Pat Hill. Had to learn the spread last year when Deruyter came to Fresno State.
His arm is awesome and his deep ball placement is incredible. His footwork is atrocious, though, and can't be harped on enough. From the cutups I've watched on Draft Breakdown (and holy crap they are long with how many times he throws the ball), Carr steps into very few of his throws and falls back on far too many of them. Often doesn't keep his feet moving in the pocket after his dropback if he sees a clean pocket.
Dude's a real gunslinger. I like the Cutler and Stafford comparisons.
Still not a fan yet but i have said earlier his deep ball ability is nuts. Its just that his lack of footwork and pocket manipulation will hurt him at the next level. From the shoulders up he is what you want in a QB. Fiery , competitive , able to read and react , sniper rifle for an arm. From the hips down its another story in full and i question if he will falter when he doesnt consistently see the clean pocket needed for his deep ball at the NFL level.
I find myself watching his draftbreakdown clips and wanting to somehow get in his head and tell him to gun the ball with some feeling and step forward.

I really struggle to find footage of Carr under pressure actually, thus I cannot like or dislike his ability in that domain. He's just not blitzed or even pressured.
He showed he can escape from the pocket against San Jose State but I want to see him navigate in the pocket and he's never pressured enough to be forced to do that. It's frustrating.
Level of competition only applies to Bridgewater. ...didn't you know?
Well congratz HeeRo. It looks like your mancrush will wear the black and teal next season. I wonder what TMD and Vagrantwade will do after Thursday Night Football.
Derek Carr is the best QB in the draft and it's not even close. His arm and ball placement is second to none and that includes all the QB's in the NFL. He is Peyton Manning with Matthew Stafford's arm and runs as fast as Cam Newton (4.56/40)

Here's a video I found from 2011 when he was a sophmore and was under center in a pro style offense. There is some examples of him under pressure. That pass at the end was pretty far.
I wonder who is going to be the one to pimp this scrub now that Heero got hit with the ban hammer.

That's Derek Carr? I thought I was watching game tape of Philip Rivers.

How come non of the mediot pundits rate Carr that high?
This isnt really worth starting a new thread over, so ill just post it here. Ive seen many people site Gil Brandt to back up whatever opinion they have. Not to say hes wrong all the time, but imma just lay this gem out here.
Brandt: Driskel could be No. 2 SR QB in 2014 dlvr.it/4S64VZ
