Yankees of any stripe shouldn't talk about college football since they can't seem to ever win a national championship.

I'll just assume this doesn't apply to the NFL
If you look on YouTube at Robinson video he throws more then most here think. And can stand in the pocket or scramble.
It seems there is a direct relationship between the team's winning percentage and the collective IQ of this message board.

Nope, the IQ is always extremely low. I'm shocked some of these people can even figure out how to register.

I'm speaking sports collectively. Even with the Packers / Lions, Michigan dominates Wisconsin in Sports. It isn't even close, to be quite frank.
Quote:You are pretty biased it seems.

Being biased does not negate the fact that I'm right, though.

So Jaguar fans should never talk about NFL football since they can't seem to ever win a Super Bowl? Ok. Good logic, man.

If I remember correctly the Packers have had the Lions number for the last 10 or so years. I'm not sure how that equates to Michigan dominating Wisconsin in sports though.

This is funny stuff right here.

There's a reason he entered the league as a WR/RB option and not as a QB.  That was his decision to switch.  Even he was smart enough to recognize he wasn't going to make it in the NFL as a QB.  It's a shame some of his fan boys don't recognize this.
Something i found interesting Denard now listed at WR on the roster. No longer OW.

I don't think Denard will be an NFL QB. Calling me a fan boy doesn't make Henne any more exciting of an option, though.
Might as well start him at QB. We're barely using him at this point and he can't be worse than what we have.

It's like watching the Lullaby League and the Lollipop Guild argue about who are the taller Munchkins.

You do realize that Michigan sports have been better than Florida sports too, right? That is sad considering the geography (where would star athletes rather live?) and the population (you have as = or > teams in just about every sport).

But keep showing your ignorance, please.

First of all, read the post again, and pay particular attention to whom I was responding.  It wasn't you.

But, since you've decided to jump in, you are indeed a fan boy of Robinson.  Nothing wrong with that, except you started a thread begging to give your icon a shot.  A shot at what?  Playing QB?  Not going to happen.  I'm sure eventually they will look for ways to get him more integrated into the offense, but so far what few opportunities he's had haven't exactly wowed anyone.  Sorry.

I fail to see where anyone has said anything Henne has done would be considered exciting.  But, I understand you're being defensive about your icon.

Someone is showing ignorance here for certain.

When was the last time "Michigan sports" (pretty generic, but okay) were better than "Florida sports"?  And the geography thing?  Huh?
Give Denard a shot. Really? I am never shocked at what some say on here anymore. Unbelieveable.

Michigan

1. NCAA Hockey:

19 NCAA Championships. Michigan, Michigan St., Lake Superior St., Michigan Tech, and Northern Michigan combine to have 8 more National Titles than any other state. The gap between 2nd and 6th is 7 titles.

(I don't believe any Florida team has ever competed in NCAA Division I hockey.)... Huge advantage for Michigan.

2. NHL Hockey:

11 Stanley Cups. The Detroit Red Wings are the 2nd best franchise in NHL history.

Noteable players- Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lindstrom, Terry Sawchuck, Sergi Federov.

(Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning combine for 1 Stanley Cup.)... Huge advantage for Michigan.

3. NCAA Football:

17 "claimed" National Titles. Michigan is one of the most storied programs in college football. The Wolverines have more wins and higher winning percentage than any program in college football.

Noteable players- Charles Woodson, Desmond Howard, Tom Harmon, Tom Brady

(Miami / Florida / Florida St. have 15 claimed National Titles. I'm not sure if there is another school in Florida has any.) Slight advantage for Florida because of how much Miami and Florida St. dominated the 80s and 90s.

4. NCAA Basketball:

3 National Championships. 15 Final 4s. Michigan St. and Michigan don't have blue blood level history, but MSU is an elite program and Michigan could be on it's way back.

Noteable players- Magic Johnson, Mateen Cleeves, Glen Rice, Chris Webber

(Miami / Florida / Florida St. combine for 2 National Championships and 4 Final 4s.) Advantage Michigan

5. MLB Baseball:

3 World Series Titles. Not in the top tier of MLB franchises, but not far behind.

Noteable players- Ty Cobb, Al Kaline, Alan Trammell, Hank Greenberg, Miguel Cabrera

(The Marlins and the Devil Rays combine for 2 World Series Titles. Let me me know if I'm missing any). Slight advantage Michigan.

6. NBA Basketball:

3 NBA Championships. Will probably always be a B-list NBA team, but only 4 teams have more NBA Championships.

Noteable players- Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars

(The Magic and Heat have combined for 3 NBA Championships.) Push.

7. NFL Football:

pffft.

Noteable Players- Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson

(The Dolphins, Buccaneers, and Jaguars combine for 3 NFL Championships). Huge advantage Florida.

The Red Wings have more Championships than all of your professional sports teams combined. I really don't think it is ignorant to claim that Michigan has better sports than Florida.

And what is hard to understand about the geography thing? Geography is a huge factor in college recruiting. What do you think is easier:

A... Convincing a Michigan HS athlete to leave Michigan and spend their college years in the Florida sun with some of the most attractive student bodies in the country?

B... Convincing a Florida HS athlete to leave the Florida sun and women to come up and spend their college years playing/practicing football in sub-freezing temperatures?

Likewise, do you think it is easier to convince players like LeBron to live in South Beach and Orlando or Detroit? Detroit is basically the buttcrack of the United States and that has a negative impact at bringing in stars who can pick where they want to live.

Wow!  That's pretty pathetic.

Athletes are attracted to Florida because it's not Michigan.  For professionals, the climate is a minor benefit.  Taxes lead the way.  For college athletes, it's about going to the state that has multiple top tier programs who are regularly in the national championship mix, participating in the best conferences in college sports.

Michigan has hockey.  Everything else is an afterthought because the teams simply don't win.

15 Final 4s compared to 4? Yes, Michigan only has hockey.
