Kookvaris all over Brady's jock. Slurp, slurp sammy boy.
What a reality check these last two days have been.

I think I might have predicted 9-7 or 8-8, I don't remember which. Now I'm saying 6-10.

Over some practices with legitimate starters not practicing VS the Super Bowl champs?

A swing of 3 games for you??

Says it's unfair to compare any QB to Brady. Goes on yo compare Bortles to Brady.

The trail of tears continues.

Thanks, Debbie.

What about these practices made you sway that much? Aside from goal line issues, the jags went toe to toe with the defending champs...in practice! They couldn't cover our receivers, nor block our DTs and DEs. The fact our third string CBs couldn't cover Cook doesn't concern me. The sky is not falling!

Exactly.  Plus, we won't be facing NE weekly.

All this shows us is that New England is the better team.  Big shocking revelation there.

It's the reports I am hearing that Blake has not gotten any better.   Plus the reports that New England stuffed our running game.

It (the practices against NE) was a reality check.  We were 3-13 last year, and 6-10 would be a doubling of the win total.   Going from 3-13 to 9-7 might be asking a bit much.

Maybe we'll get better during the season.   Rome wasn't built in a day.  Coaching is a long term proposition, and if Marrone is a better head coach than Bradley, it will show up eventually.   But we're starting at 3-13.  And Bortles doesn't appear to be any better yet.   Neither does our offensive line.

There are a lot of conflicting reports. Some saying Bortles is better, some saying he's the same.

I think I'll wait until week 3 to make my decision on where we will finish up this year.

Also NE is prob the best practice team in the NFL, since they have had the same HC longer then any team, and we have a first year HC of this team.

If you read the pats message board or listen to their media, sure, the Jags were overwhelmed. Not the case and there are tons of instagram and twitter videos out there that show otherwise. There are even articles out there that Bortles got the best of the pats defense day one and did ok day two with one interception for both days (9 on 7 & 11 on 11 drills). You are right though that the O-line did not do well day two. If you feel froggy, get out there and google some articles and video.

Something tells me you're a hit at parties.

8-9 wins was a little high to begin with.  This team has a lot of question marks along with a new HC that I'm not sold on.

The OL is going to be a problem.  Bortles needs to make big strides for us to make it to 9 wins this year.

Pretty much. Brady wouldn't have been able to make some of the throws he did in a real game. Plenty of pressure from our DL that would have been sacks or forced poor throws. Our WRs consistently got separation, especially ARob and Lee. Bouye was good day 1, and was held back day 2.

I would hope Brady would shred Patmon and Myrick...
I take the practice reports and statistics with a grain of salt.  After all, it's practice!  It's not a game.

They aren't playing against a clock.

They aren't keeping score.

It's all "situational", no real down-and-distance stuff.

Both teams are using vanilla formations and plays that are probably very predictable.

Both teams (I assume) have starters sidelined for one reason or another.

They aren't really tackling or rushing the QB at 100%.  Players are "letting up" early.

I could go on, but my point is that practice != game.

Even Thursday's pre-season game isn't a real solid indicator, though it will give a better idea than practice.
