I wonder if he's actually ready to work this time (and if TC even wants him back at this point.)

I doubt that, but we'll see.

I'm figuring that this is just a money grab of some sort.

Yeah. The sort where he doesn't want to pay back 3.4 million of the signing bonus he's already been paid.

More like a money keep than a money grab.
I expected this to be a practical joke. Turns out the joke is not the original poster.
I don't want him back. Greedy player that doesnt want to work. Wanted an extension then retirement and now back, no thanks guy will be injured with in a week on purpose just to save his check.

If they let him back Coughlin should fine him for the week he's missed.
I wouldn't even allow him back, but I'm not sure if thats allowed

Exactly.

If he gets cut, he keeps his money. If he just rides the pine and stays on the roster, he gets his $8-9m.
Lol this is funny. While I wouldn't mind him back since that ateast provides SOME depth at LT, you have to question his motives. Let him earn his spot back on the team.
He had to of known he couldnt keep the bonus if he retired right? I'm sure his agent would of told him.
Doesn't seem to have the desire after leaving the team twice already, seeming he just has to make the opening day roster to collect the majority of his money (sorta guessing?). The only way I would let him back was for him to rework his deal into per game roster bonuses or something. I just see him mailing it in as soon as he gets most of his money.
"Get on the bus, or get under the bus."

Seems like Albert is trying to get from under the bus back on.

I have mixed feelings about it.

If his heart isn't in it-and there is serious doubt about that-it's doubtful how much he can help the team. It's doubtful if he can work his way back into shape.

I wonder what Marrone, Coughlin and the team are thinking, considering Albert missed the toughest part of camp-by tomorrow it'll be 7 padded practices in 8 days.

But I'd rather have him at backup T than Wells or Poutasi though.

Important point on #Jaguars LT Branden Albert: No sure thing the team takes him back after his unceremonious retirement/unretirement.

I'd have him redo some type of deal if he wants to come back so we don't get shafted. Maybe split the bonus by per game or something. I wouldn't take him back under the same circumstance where he gets his whole bonus if he is on the roster week 1. Cause he could easily mail it in after that

Exactly...First he bails out on the minicamps and now on the hardest week of training camp.  This dude is nothing but a money grabbing slacker.  I think Coughlin will see right through this.

I don't think we have to cut him he has already retired, however I could be wrong if he hasn't officially filed league retirement papers.

Per PFT:

Quote: Albert has to appear in three games for the Jaguars this season for the Dolphins to receive a 2018 seventh-round pick.

Good idea!
man... we need him to be honest.. Our O-line looks like it could single handedly hold us back again this year from where we all think we can be, that or Bortles of course.

But we aint dumb, we know why he wants back. Make him restructure to where he can come back and he can get that money IF and only IF he starts a certain amount of games for the year, and of course we dont start him if he doesnt earn it.

But let's be real, we need help on the O-line
Use him as trade bait. He was getting whipped by our D-Linemen in practices before he left, so he might get cut anyway. We might as well see if anyone will give us a pick or even a young, raw O-Linemen who actually wants to earn his way onto the roster. At this point, I don't even think he makes it on the roster.
They might let him come back (maybe they have to?), but I seriously doubt they're gonna let this flake make the final 53 and guarantee his contract for the year.
Gotta admit.....sure didn't see this one coming.

#Jaguars unlikely to allow recently-retired OT Branden Albert to return.
I'm not sure if this is some kind of a front to help make a case for a CTE settlement
What a bum.
