Let's get AJ McCarron in here.

It's far too late to bring in a QB and trading away draft picks would be a stupid decision.
Henne could be effective if they keep him in a game manager role. If they ask him to open it up, he'll be wildly inconsistent.
It's the lesser of two evils.

Blake has sucks.

Henne sucks but maybe just a little bit less than Blake. We have seen what Blake can do with the 1's so let's give Henne a shot. You literally have nothing to lose by starting Henne.
I think it's obvious that Blake is broken at this point.  Something is really wrong with him psychologically.  He has zero confidence.  Henne, right now, is better than this version of Bortles.

Maybe he can actually lead a pretty talented team to the playoffs and we trade up for a QB.  If we then sign Cousins next offseason and have Cousins-Henne-Rookie, I'd feel like we're pretty set for a while with an above average Cousins and a rookie we don't have to rush in.

Regardless, I hope we keep Marrone.  I think he's a hell of a coach.

That`s literally the only role a team has ever given him, Its like you people have never seen the man play a single snap outside of this preseason.

Heck he hasn`t even been good this preseason against the Bucs 1`s he averaged 4.4 yards a throw and had a 60% completion rate.

If anyone thinks Bortles is the better option you must be blind or not paying attention. How much longer do you need to see this guy throw picks?
This should be interesting. Actually, comparing Henne 's throws to Blake's throws this preseason...Henne looked a lot better. Tight spiral, mostly accurate, hitting receivers in stride, quick delivery. He could give us a chance to win, with a decent run game, and good defense. But honestly, at this point I don't really expect anything to go right for the Jags.

You do realize Henne has thrown more INTs in a season than Bortles has right.....

What's the downside of starting Henne in a preseason game?

Lets play a game here

QB one went for 3301 yards and 15 touchdowns and 19 interceptions and a 61.4 completion percentage.

QB two went for 3241 yards and 13 touchdowns and 14 interceptions and had 60.6 completion percentage.

Which one is Chad Henne? Here`s a hint so you don`t get confused there both Chad Henne.
Splitting the reps huh

Nice psyops Marrone, nice psyops

Everybody keeps using INTs as some reason why Bortles shouldn't be playing when Henne throws more INTs than he throws TDs and has thrown more INTs in a season than Bortles.

And you realize how many pick sixes Bortles has thrown? Being in the league 3 years! The guy is not the answer and almost a 20 million dollar liability on top of it. Henne started like 2 years ago. There are a lot of upgraded players on the team since then. The Jags had no choice but to do this.

And those two stat lines are his best seasons lol.
It really comes down to the 5th year option. Neither QB is the future that is obvious at this point, but only one of them has the ability to seriously screw us for 2018 if something catastrophic happens. It's a no brainer to sit Bortles once you decide he's not the face of the franchise. The only question in my mind now is whether he gets cut or whether we keep him a healthy scratch.

It will mean nothing if Henne starts. Boxes will be stacked taking Fournette out of the equation. Henne had Brandon Marshall and posted his worst season. You could give the guy Randy Moss and Jerry Rice in there prime and he would still go for 3200 yards and 15 touchdowns.
FWIW they are to split reps evenly with the first team. It's entirely possible both QBs stink it up against the Panthers 1's. What does Marrone do then?
