I don't know about you, but I'll probably be complaining about the lack of instant respect from the national media. Big Grin

Talk about how much Myers sucks I guess...

Obviously... we're going to question if we were that good or if Houston was/is that bad that the Jag's beat them like drums!
All the announcers could do for most of the game was say how bad the Jaguars were last year....lol.
I yelled at 'em.....this ain't last year!
They finally admitted taht after 10 SACKS....the Jags D owned the 'horns...well DUH.
The 'Stache has got to be a happy man!
Great game by the offensive line to have such a great game against such a talented unit. I am beyond impressed in their performance.

Calais Campbell was a one man wrecking crew.

Founette is the franchise player we have been waiting for. He opens up so much for the passing game.

I really like the way the guys competed out there. There was an edge to our guys that I haven't seen since TC was in charge.

Myles Jack was flying around out there showing off his elite athleticism and agility. I think this kid is going to be a real playmaker.

Some will simply crawl back under their rock for a week praying for a loss.  Others will blame the coaching staff for the Robinson injury.  Others will call it a fluke win. These are people who live for misery.
Myles Jack was murdering people out there btw, I swear he hurt like 3 tight ends.

I'm kinda' wondering though... does this mean that we're 'that good' or does this mean that Houston was that bad today? Either way, it sure was nice to watch a Jag's game and enjoy the experience for a change. Having said that now, I'm also reminded that it was just one game, and it was against a struggling team in our admittedly weak division. But hey... as they say, a win is a win, and it was a season opener on the road against a division rival. Yeah... we'll take that all day!?

Its one thing for use to dominate Houstons offense, but the fact that the Texans number 1 defense with the same players mostly, looked so bad makes me say this is the real deal

lol fo real he knocked them all out
So this is what competent coaching looks like.

More please.

Ahah so true! Too bad for the INT called back becuase of the penalty, he deserved that. His best game for us so far.
That's a really good point made about fournette opening up the pass. A lot of the receivers down field were nore open than I've seen in a long time. Now if they could just hold on to the football....
Things can change drastically for teams in week 2. Happens for a lot of teams every year. Hopefully we'll show up with another solid effort in all 3 phases and be 2-0 in the division with a home win against the tacks next week. Stadium should be electric after this win and performance.

somehow they do better the more games they play
29 points for the Jaguars. 29 fantasy points for the Jaguars D/ST.

They did. Back to back BS calls against Ngakwe and Fowler.
The physical conditioning over previous teams is readily apparent. I kept whining during the game day thread that the D was going to get gassed and collapse. They didn't. Our D brought it every play.
Feels good to be on the winning side of one of these beat downs. It's definitely been a long while.
The most amazing thing is the play of the O-line, not allowing a single sack.

And the actual gameplay - run it, run it, and run it again, keeping the pressure off Bortles and playing good defense - that's actual coaching, Under Gus you would have seen the D go into 3 man fronts playing prevent and allowing the Texans to get back in the game. But our D kept bringing the heat all the way into the 4th quarter.

The whole line was dominant. Andrew Catalon said during the fourth quarter we tallied a team record nine sacks in a single game. Yannick was one of the guys who recovered a Tom Savage fumble. Whoever said Dante Fowler was going to have a big day probably did not expect him to score. Man, I hated missing that play due to a power outage. I don't care if a "statue" QB (Boomer Esiason's word) is playing; we put the NFL on notice.

Meanwhile the rest of our defense got the benefits of an upgraded pass rush.
Jaguars won in the trenches, and thereby won the game easily.

I knew Campbell was good, but it looks like he is to the texans what watt always was to us for so many years.

This is the sign of a good team, Jags over came that for the first time in years.
