Maybe BB5's best throw of the game:

A whole different attitude all round today. Blake was calm and effective.

Shows that pre-season shouldn't be taken too seriously.

If we play like that then we can have a great season.

Nice! I don't think I've ever seen him throw a textbook spiral quite like this.

I have to think that limiting Bortles to 21 attempts was key.

Now if we can just complete more than 52 percent and throw for more than 6 YPA.
He was fine and played calmly. Made some nice throws and too bad about the drops, especially the Lewis one on the first red zone drive (Marcedes has to catch that one) and the Lee one later in the game.

The only throw I didn't like was when he rolled out (on the second red zone drive I think) and tried to find Cole who was well covered in the end zone and the pass was broken up but it was risky and could have been picked and that would have been an INT at the worst possible time.
Other than that an encouraging game for sure.
I couldn't help but think this is exactly what everyone asked him to do yesterday. Play mistake free ball and make a few plays when necessary. It was refreshing to see
Blake had at least 3 really bad drops from his WRs. We need them to step up and make plays now that ARob is gone.
This was not a rebirth. I am happy abut the win, but he made a couple of head scratching throws that should have been picked. One of them was in the end zone.

Again, happy we have a run game to balance out the ineptitude of Blake Bortles, but as of 9/11/17, we still draft a QB in round 1.
i'm putting my money on the biggest difference is the oline wasnt letting him get knocked around so he was able to keep from making a mistake, plus we werent behind so he wasnt trying to be a super hero and win the game.
For the most part, he played within his ability and didn't try to do too much. He had two questionable throws...one to the TE in the middle of the field who was double covered and the end zone shot to Cole. Really, the TE throw is the only one I didn't like and luckily he came down with it. The end zone throw I get. He was trying to allow his receiver to make a play. Even if intercepted, it wasn't going anywhere so kind of like a punt. It was a chance to really step on the throats. Overall, not a bad game and the stats don't tell the true story.

He could potentially be more than that, the key is him not feeling like he's got to carry the offense.  He's had games where he can go 325 yards and 3 TDs in the past so the talent is there, but if he's forcing it less maybe he can avoid the turnovers which have really hurt him.  He's never going to be a superstar but is athletically gifted enough to be more than a game manager.
Bi Polar fan base strikes again...

I'm not ready to crown Bortles anything just yet.
Yes, he played mistake free.
If we can manage to win a bunch of games with our QB only throwing 20-25 passes... man... that'll be awesome...

But it wouldn't really make me want to continue into the future with said QB.

Today's game was all about the OL, LF, Ivory, and the D (the Duval Wall especially)

It's a good Monday for sure!

That was the ONLY thing from Blake that I didn't like yesterday. They were in definite scoring territory,, and he makes a really risky decision by forcing that ball toward Cole when he was well covered. The announcer even mentioned that "I don't like that decision there,, you gotta throw the ball away and take the 3 points".

It worked as a an incompletion,, but that could've been a killer INT in the Red Zone.

Other than that though,, Blake played a really solid game and looked good. I can't ask for much more than the way he played yesterday. He had a really good game.
Top half of the league in rating so far

I still wish we would use his legs MORE, the one play where he kept it for 15 yards was perfect, we should be doing stuff like that a couple times per game

Was this during the third quarter? I never saw him run 15 yards.

The drive following the Houston "gift touchdown", went from the 26 to the 11.
This is how we need to play him all season long. Limit his throws and just run the ball heavy. Hopefully he gets through the season healthy this year and we're able to compete and move onto a new QB next year.
If he wins 8 to 10 games he is our QB next year so please get used to it.

We'll be drafting a QB next year.  He was limited to 21 throws for a reason.

I liked what I saw from him today. Passes were accurate and didn't make any bad decisions. Outside of those drops, which were good passes, he looked great. The only "bad" pass was the one drop by Cole that was slightly behind him but catchable.

One time I saw him yelling before a snap. It was clear he was not just calling a play, but mad at a lineman.

That throw to Cole was not catchable.

It hit him in the hands.....

You're thinking of a different pass.
