Quote:Is that why you live in Jacksonville? All that sweet, juicy riverfront parking?

When I worked downtown back in the day, I parked in the First Baptist garage and I think I paid like 40 something a month. That place was full and just doing the math in my head made me giddy.

Almost zero overhead.

Id open another IRA and put half the money in it

That would be quite the feat considering the maximum annual contribution you can make to an IRA is $5,500/$6,500 based on your age.

then I would open as many as I needed then roll them all into one later...I didn't think there was a limit to what you can open one with...Im aware of the annual limits, but I didnt know it applied to how much you could open an account with

Well there really are contribution limits but not sure about how much, if anything you can open it with.
GMC Syclone
Step 1:

Put it $900,000 on the Jags to win Sunday and $100,000 on the Jags to win the Super Bowl.

Step 2:

Sit back and get paid.

That's implied in getting a PPl you numpty.

Make The Message Board Great Again!

I'd buy the Jags message board and make JDub the sole admin.   Someone has to enforce the rules!

My wife implied the grass needed to be cut the other day.

What would I do with a million dollars?

The boring me (the real me) says I would invest the money in a secure, diversified, safe way, and have a nice, secure, safe retirement.

My alternative self says, if I could avoid blowing the money on hookers and drugs (seriously), I would travel until the money ran out.   Spend a little time in big cities, spend a little time in the country, see Europe, see the United States, just move whenever I got bored with wherever I was.   I think a million bucks would finance about 10 years of travel.   Of course, I am married, so the hookers and drugs thing is out of the question, but I am saying if I had ultimate freedom to do anything I wanted with the money...

In reality, we spend so much of our lives desperately seeking money, and then when we get it, we spend the rest of our lives trying to keep it safe, and what have we accomplished?  All we've done is bow down to the god of money.   It's like the way we treat gold.  We dig it up, melt it down, and then we lock it up in a vault and hire someone to guard it.  What good is that?

You really need to think seriously.   When people tell you, "Don't waste your money."   Which of these is wasting money: spending it, or saving it?

I've always wanted an aardvark.

A politician.

You couldn't even get a 30 minute speech for that!

I have thought about this many times...Very little overhead, payroll, and maintainance and they are always full or nearly full...I bet the liability insurance would be quite high though

Yeah I knew about the annual contribution limits, and there is also a higher "catch up" contribution for people over 50 ( I thinks that's the age) to put more in...
