Lets face it without Arob this will be a dysfunctional offense all year long. Penalties and the Titans two lines ruined us today. Cam whiffed on a blindside sack fumble, one of the picks was a direct result of pressure, the other pick which was thrown behind Lee got batted into the air by Lee... again.

Combine all of that with a coach who is unwilling to let Blake sling it around with confidence and we will see 8-9 man boxes all year long. No threat at TE, WRs are serviceable if everything else around them is working well which it isn't.

We don't have the luxury of asking our defense and run game to win every game for us, in the modern Nfl you need your qb to win games and the coaching staff is unwilling to try that. We are playing scared instead of leaving it all on the field when it comes to the offense.

Give credit to the Titans their defense is a lot better than we thought.

Not worth changing them out? Well for starters, if Blake gets injured and can't pass a physical the team then owes him $19 million. Secondly, if Blake continues to stink it up Marone risks losing the rest of the team.
You don't understand, the game plan is to have multiple sacks, forced fumbles, interceptions and ensure we don't even need a QB. Today everyone but the QB didn't deliver.

/sarcasm

It is just one game of the remaining 14 but dang it sure is reminiscent of the past decade.
this:

The Jaguars’ 10 penalties went for 99 yards Sunday and they created situations of first-or second-and-more than 19 yards on five different drives for the offense. Those five drives came on a six-possession stretch in the second and third quarters, a stretch in which the Titans turned a 3-3 tie into a 23-3 lead.

“It’s hard to call plays when you’re starting out first and 20,” Marrone said, adding, “This does not give us the position that we want to be in from a standpoint of field position and a standpoint of being able to run the football the way we want to.”
Marrone told the truth, there was bad play all over the offense today, Blake isn't the only one that has to take blame. That's called holding people accountable. No respectable coach is going to trash his starting QB when he knows that's the only option the team has. It is what it is. We just have to work with what we've got and very few QBs are going to be successful on first and 25, 2nd and 30 type situations.

How did that work out the last 2 years? Arob is an excuse as 3 games won last year and in the first game 1 catch and they won. Face it, Bortles is the problem but i understand you don't want to face that. I bet you are the same that defended Gabbert.

Bortles didn't put them in 1st and 15+ like 20 times today.
I mean you could literally have anyone go out there and hand the ball off and do a five yard slant for 4 quarters. Why risk 19 million in the process.

Of all the reasons people bleat about this the $$$ angle is the stupidest. Why do you care about Khan's money so much? He isn't going to share any savings with you.

You're right he didn't, but he also doesn't possess the ability to overcome penalties very often either. The team basically has to play flawless in every facet of the game to win with Bortles.

I always wonder the same thing.  It always seems like envy and jealousy.
Why?... So Bortles can be the best of three Qbs on the team?

The fact the we have only had Hurns, Arob, and Lee healthy and on the field at the same time a handful of times is the problem.  Between all the penalties and stubborn playcalling Bortles never had a shot today.  Ya I defended Gabbert for two years, two years of terrible team around him, no Oline, and no receivers.  I gave up on him for not being able to hang in the pocket.  I don't know how to criticize Bortles when the coaching staff doesn't let him throw the ball.  Don't tell me Kaepernick is an upgrade, he is not.  This offense is weak at TE, OL, and without Arob or Dede WR.

Don't tell me it was Bortles fault when they didn't let him throw the ball and when they did the line didn't hold up or he was put in unwinnable down and distances due to penalties.

This game was lost in the trenches in the second half.  2 of the turnovers were directly related to the Oline and the 3rd was a bad pass made worse by a WR popping it into the air.

This isn't MLB. Their is a salary cap.

I'd rather have a chance at giving that $$$ to Cousins instead of BB.
Bad decision by the organization to pickup that option

It's just bad business. You're playing a guy who will 99.9% will be replaced, who isn't good and is historically becoming one of the biggest turnover machines who hasn't even played 4 whole seasons yet. It makes your ball club look inept. It's a slap in the face to players like Telvin Smith who have played great football since arriving here and you see Bortles being insured for 19 million. It's sickening.

And doesn't the 19 million come out of our salary cap? No thanks.
Marrones coach speak is getting borderline Del Rio and it's only his 2nd game.

I tried saying this same thing in multiple threads already and it's pointless honestly.

The same people crying on here are the same idiots who don't want any logic and facts on this/any situation. They're also the same idiots who were no where to be seen after last week's game.

They want Bortles to fail so bad, that they'll literally ignore anything else that's going on around him and place everything on him. I mean, according to the cry babies on here, Bortles was the reason he fumbled today. It had nothing to do with Cam Robinson getting completely smoked by Orakpo and whiffing on that play. It was only because of Bortles.. LOL  Laughing
We suck at QB is what I got out of it. "What for" as in, Henne will be worse. It is baffling we kept Henne over Allen, both may suck but Allen has upside and is young. Either way you cut it, Round 1 is QB again next draft. Probably going QB, OG, WR, TE in first 4 rounds. We still need a lot of help on offense.

This is a valid point too, and I agree fully. The problem is, teams will have a few drives where they get penalized but you have to have a QB that can make competent throws and make up the yards here and there to get a manageable 3rd down. We barely even have a guy who can complete 3rd and shorts when we throw. The main issue today was penalties and QB play. We have to fix both, for sure.
I got a suggestion for the next draft: They should pick anybody except the top guy in their QB board

Their history of QB evaluation stinks
