The same people crying on here are the same idiots who don't want any logic and facts on this/any situation. They're also the same idiots who were no where to be seen after last week's game.

They want Bortles to fail so bad, that they'll literally ignore anything else that's going on around him and place everything on him. I mean, according to the cry babies on here, Bortles was the reason he fumbled today. It had nothing to do with Cam Robinson getting completely smoked by Orakpo and whiffing on that play. It was only because of Bortles.. LOL  Laughing
This is a valid point too, and I agree fully. The problem is, teams will have a few drives where they get penalized but you have to have a QB that can make competent throws and make up the yards here and there to get a manageable 3rd down. We barely even have a guy who can complete 3rd and shorts when we throw. The main issue today was penalties and QB play. We have to fix both, for sure.

I agree, We have a QB who is struggling. Plain and simple.

Even the best QBs are going to have a hard time when they're consistently facing long downs and distances. We had an already struggling QB, who was being forced into even more awful situations with stupid penalties.

Bortles completed 3, 3rd down conversions with his arm on those 5 drives, of that stretch we lost on. Penalties flat out killed those drives and turned the game, even with Bortles sub-par play up to those points.

I always wonder the same thing.  It always seems like envy and jealousy.

Because there is a limited pool of money to pay players, and that money could be given to GOOD players to come to or stay on the team?

I cant believe I actually had to explain this to someone on a football forum.........

If your coach is afraid to throw the football on 1st and 20 because your QB sucks soo bad....its not the problem of the guy(s) who got the penalty in the first place.

And you bring up last weeks game like Blakes amazing 11 completions for 125 yards is a reason for the win. The only thing Blake did in that game was not do anything stupid like he normally does...thats what we are happy with and defend for a QB in Jacksonville......

Just a bit more "facts and logic" Smile

I think a lot of people don't understand that the 19 million would count against next years cap space. I see no other excuse for the type of cognitive dissonance I've seen.
It must be depressing to be Henne. As terrible as Bortles is, he's considered a better QB .......

The Jags have so much cap space they might be penalized for not spending enough next year.

'kap' coming here ain't gonna happen, so be prepared to wait a very long time. If it does happen, this team can go to London with no found fair wells from me.
Just say no to Kaep. No one in Jacksonville wants a person that peacefully protest by being 3 foot lower during a song. Its personally ruined my life and countless others.

Wrong forum, you'll get warned by the babysitters if you keep that up.

That's not true anymore. We have around 7 mil in cap space next year with the option included.

"What For?" Marrone

Post Game Marrone

I think what he meant to say was "For who?"

Exactly.  The short term memory of this fan base kills me.  Do people here not remember Chad Henne?  They wouldn't even put him back in over Blaine Freaking Gabbert.  Why would they put him in now?
What's aggravating is we essentially traded Julius Thomas for a LT that's not even on our roster anymore! TE needs to be addressed in the higher rounds in the draft. That's two weeks in a row that left over TE from the pats had a drive killing penalty!
Translation:

Lamm: Did you ever think about changing QBs?

Marrone: And go with Henne? Behind this line? Are u on meth Lamm?

You're forgetting about the 30+ million we still have in rollover.

We're good.
As long as Bortles isn't our QB next year I'm not too concerned with him. Just gonna enjoy Fournette and our defense this season.

That's the Jaguars motto.

"Always next year"
Bortles is the new Bradley... everyone just sitting and waiting for the axe to fall
We know it's coming... the only question is when?

Nassib signing is writing on the wall, imo.

If Bortles falters, in goes Henne and Nassib is our #2 (for awhile anyway).
Bortles then becomes inactive/cut.

A shade under 41 million at last count.

Exactly.

We could try and sign Alex Smith or Jimmy G next offseason, but if we end up owing Bortles $19M there isn't enough cap space to be in the running.

I don't think people realize just how much money we've got tied up in the D-line.
