I wish they'd fly this dude in wherever the team is playing on Saturday night and have him work with Bortles in the hotel the night before. Also I'd like to see him in Bortles hip pocket during warmups drilling whatever passing/timing routine they are putting into his head. That won't happen but it would be nice to see.

3 years into the NFL and still learning the basics. He's trying but still. Not good for us. He's still a project.

When is the last time he threw a deep ball and the receiver ran under it in stride and took it to the house? Serious question. I watched Dak throw a great ball to Dez like that on Sunday night. I've seen Carr do it too many times. Heck, I saw Mariota do it to the Jags on Thursday when he threw it to Wright.

I think anyone with a new patched line and no running game would struggle. Including brady.

Apparently Blake was working on his mechanics in Bikini Bottom over the summer.

Brady would pick apart defenses behind our oline, and if we had smart coaches they would pass to set up the run. The defense has to play a Brady type QB honest, opening up the run game. Hell, even if you had no run game, throw it 50 times a game, worked for Green Bay. Brady or Rodgers on this team, with a decent staff, 12 win Jags team easy.

From DiRocco:
"There was a noticeable difference in the way Bortles threw the ball during the 20-minute period when the media was allowed to watch Thursday's practice. Bortles held the ball at his shoulder and his delivery was quicker"

Now I'm not a QB guru or anything, but isn't there a chance that "fixing" his delivery will make his already bad accuracy even worse if he's not comfortable throwing it that way? I don't really know how to word that in a good way so my bad.

The inaccuracy will come from the inconsistency of not being used to it

I'd like to believe that this couple days with a QB shrink has solved all of Bortles issues, and he is up for any challenge. But...this franchise has backed me into a corner of a "show me" attitude. Show me on the field during a game, or better yet, 2 or 3 games in a row. Otherwise, there is no change.

If he was late making reads but could make up for it with a quick release, he could become more accurate.

His release is what it is. He's got to get better at making his reads quickly and trusting what he's seeing. If a couple of days with his QB guru can help in that regard, and he can get back to where he was last year with his confidence, he'll be fine.

Has anyone ever seen Bortles make a throw before a receiver "came out of his break?"

Fair enough...I just couldn't recall him ever throwing before seeing the receiver wide open. and then usually he delays so much that the receiver then becomes covered again.

That's for sure. Look back and some of his long TDs last year. It's usually short to mid range passes that the WRs take to the house.

This, he is only hitting receivers when they are stopped, looking and waiting for the ball. We are not hitting any receiver in stride on a slant/post.
