Man. These losers sure do come out quick after a loss.

An RB still needs blocking to be even remotely effective. Defenders were swarming in the backfield all damn day.

Well than drafting any RB in the top 10 was one waste of a pick.

Why don't you tell us more about how Gabbert is nothing to be worried about?
I don't think the defense got exposed. I just think they had too much to overcome at the end of the game and just didn't get the job done. I do feel that we can at least end all of the talk about our defense being Elite. They are very good, but Elite defenses don't lose games like this to a team on their 3rd QB this season. I put this on the coaching staff as the Jags were just outplayed for most of the game. Hopefully this game is just a blip and we can resume our winning ways against Indy next week.

Not sure who you are to judge. Check the game thread. The majority of us you claim are "quick to come out after a loss" have been there all game.

Except we had a good O-line at the start of the season before we lost two starters to injuries. tinhorns, Ravens and Steelers all loaded the box and paid the price.
Defense still had some key stops. We made the most out of the times we did get pressure. Turning one into a TD. Some blown coverages happened but we had some good stops and the Church pick should have swung the game in our favor. We need to get healthy at some point. Team rallied hard it was a total team effort to get back into the game. It just stinks that the ending was managed so poorly on all accounts. We could easily be 5-6 with the way these games are going.

Come on you're going to pretend the O-line wasn't a huge question mark coming into the season?

A game where the Jags played terrible.

Where were you after the Steelers, Ravens, Colts or Texans?

The defense didn’t play well today. That’s clear. But does one game take away from the previous 10? Or is this game the outlier?
Moderators closed the Caldwell is a genius thread? Wow, starting to remind me of a certain news network....

Feel free to google "limited participation" as well.

Dude's ankle is not 100%

Dude's had "lingering injuries" since LSU we knew that when we drafted him. So you can't use the he's got a booboo excuse.
Blah blah blah, the dude could be hit by an atom bomb and you would still expect his ashes to run for 100 yards and 2 TDs

They were and they subsequently proved up to the task. Then 40% of them missed some games and we're seeing the result.
the defense was not getting the normal pressure, but they by far were not the issue, not even close

the coaching staff and the lack of an offense is the issue

yeah that's what you should expect from top 10 RB's, otherwise you wasted a pick on a position that isn't really THAT valuable.
Some folks are just chomping at the bit to just throw the entire season and everything involved under the bus. Stick to the issue at hand. This one game doesn't define the season just like the Jets game didn't define it. We should be able to get back on track against the Colts at home next week.
The elephant in the room remains the fact that this coaching staff and front office decided to double down on Blake Bortles and not bring in any other option or draft one early.

That's the big thing you all should be mad about it. It all comes back to that for me.

I agree with this.

Valid point.  Dude is clearly playing through injury, but not unfair to expect some durability if you're rolling the dice on that position that early in the draft.
People thought I was a troll when I said that a defense that is considered this good doesnt get enough pressure.

You take away their two games where they had 10 sacks and this team is only getting an average of a sack a game wich isnt really high for a defense thats considered the best. PITs defense has been playing lights out for the past 5 games, heck even Tennessee had 9 sack game today.
This is all coaching. Sure, the OL sucks, but it was obvious we should've pressed the receivers from the beginning. We allowed Gabbert to hit his first target each time. We started moving our corners up in the fourth quarter, and Gabbert barely did anything outside of a blown play by Church.

They thought you were a troll because you are one.

Why would we take out 20 sacks only because it's in 2 games? Did you know that if you took Tennessee's last two wins away that we'd have a 2-game lead? See how dumb that argument is? Every team has games where they gain far more than they normally do. Besides, this defense has been playing lights out. Do you think, because they lost, that they're not a great defense? You pushing this agenda of yours makes you look like a troll.

Yes because your blaming this loss on the offense. If your going to consider yourself an historic defense then you wouldnt expect a 3rd string QB to put up 24 pts on a historic defense.
