If he would've made the statement of [bleep] hole countries and left it at that, there wouldn't have been nearly as much outrage, but when he added his "Trumpism" about wanting more people from Norway, it's completely obvious to anyone who doesn't have blinders on, that it was a veiled racist comment. He just has no filter and doesn't know when to stop.

You think, because they’re predominantly black, that it’s racist to say what he said. That’s like saying it’s racist to say Chicago is a [BLEEP].

No one is answering this so I’ll ask you directly: is Haiti a [BLEEP]?

Wouldn't know. Never been there. I do know that it's a country that's suffered more than its fair share of natural disasters in the recent past, leaving its infrastructure decimated. It wasn't exactly a booming industrial power to begin with, but I'm pretty sure that if my house burned down and you said that you don't need me or anyone else from my [BLEEP] house on your lawn, I'd be annoyed. And so would lots of your other neighbors.

I have been. It was a [BLEEP] before and after these recent natural disasters. What you’re talking about is irrelevant to the conversation. At the moment, Haiti is not an ideal country to import more immigrants from. No one likes to hear that but it’s  the truth. It’s people are overwhelmingly uneducated, high crime, and few people have unique skills.

You’re talking about some of the reasons why it’s a bad place. You’re ignoring that it’s still a bad place. Just because they’re a majority black population is irrelevant. Let’s be blunt here: how many majority black countries, despite whatever reason why, are considered successful? Maybe a handful? We can go into the cause some other time, but my point is that many of the impoverished countries are Hispanic and black. Calling them out on how much they suck may be politically incorrect but it’s correct.

Why do Democrats push this agenda that Trump doesn’t like anyone that’s not a straight white male? That’s absurd.

It's a [BLEEP] hole not even a good port call

You do realize the same is true of the people in this country, right?

The fact that our President is going around calling countries this is a huge problem.  The fact that it's even mentioned as a possibility, and nobody even thinks it's out of the realm of the expected, is a problem.

I am never going to understand the defense of Trump being "Well at least he tells us the things that are on his mind!"  Folks, the things on his mind are unsubstantiated claims, narcissism, and a general lack of understanding of the office he now holds.  This is not a positive.  This should be an alarm.  He doesn't even have enough self-awareness to think "Hm.  Best not say that thing because it's probably going to cause an issue."

I know some of you think it's good that he doesn't care if he causes issues.  But this is a man whose words can start wars and riots and affect the stock market and the global economy.  HE SHOULD CARE.

The guy is unfit for the office he holds, to the nth degree.  I have no idea how people continue to defend him.
It's just another example of incompetence.   Saying what he said does not advance any agenda.   All it does is cause a huge distraction.

And besides,  even if you believe what he said is true, why is the President of the United States talking like a barroom drunk?

For all of you who are defending this comment of his, would any of you deny that it was a really dumb thing to say?

This is my thing ^

I mean - forget right, forget left, forget your opinion on Trump.

The president (any president) making such a statement is a ghastly error in diplomacy. You can like his candor all you want - but there are lines that when crossed simply damage your ability to engage in international diplomacy on solid footing.

From what I gather, this occurred behind closed doors in a venue where politicians typically use frank language with the implicit understanding that what is said there stays there. It's entirely likely that equally egregious statements have been uttered by others in the past with the understanding being honored. If true, Durbin has poisoned the well.

Well, those Attractive and Successful African-Americans will vote Democrat for 200 years, so there's that.
Btw, Trump most likely mentioned Norway because he just met with the Norwegian PM recently.
VP Cheney says Durbin can go [BLEEP] himself.

How is Cheney doing these days? Has he shot any lawyers or arranged any terrorist attacks lately?

You are truly a human version of CNN.

You just don't get it, do you? Your numerous threads about the stock market and corporate bonuses aren't going to help your Orange God (he of diminished capacity).

People have made their impression of Donald and they don't like him. Sure, 25% like him, but they liked Roy Moore, et. al. A $500.00 bonus isn't going to make someone vote for Donald if they think he's a jerk and a loon.

And the coming legal issues he'll have, along with many in his administration, isn't going to help.

So what has Donald done that any "regular" Republican wouldn't have done? All Donald does is bring along a ton of baggage and look like a fool.

Your little echo chamber on here - from Fox and Friends, to Drifter, to Stroud, back to Fox News, really has you blind to what's going on. Enjoy your time in the bubble.

It's true in ever country. That doesn't make all countries equal. This is proven if I were to ask you which countries you would want to move to. I guarantee you'd never name those countries Trump called a [BLEEP]. This idea that because it happens here too, so we don't have a right to comment on it is ludicrous. Those things are out of control in Haiti. In no way whatsoever do the problems in Haiti compare to America. I don't know why you're even comparing it.

How is it a problem? Because it isn't politically correct? You said it was a problem, so how is it one? Are we going to lose aid from Haiti or west Africa? Are their horrible leaders going to start wars because we don't like their country? No one cared when Obama called Lybia a [BLEEP] show.

You just made an unsubstantiated claim. What part of this argument is unsubstantiated? Are we now talking about something else or are we still talking about this? If this isn't unsubstantiated then why is it a problem? If this is unsubstantiated then you should be able to show why that is.

Those words you think "can start wars" has helped motivate North Korea to negotiate with South Korea. Ask the South Korean President who thinks he deserves credit for pushing North Korea into talks. Meanwhile, the media and people like you, were going around telling people those words "can start wars". Had Trump ever threatened a country that didn't already threaten the United States? You guys are sensationalists. As for riots, who cares? We see people riot over things that literally never happened. As for the stock market... well... I'd imagine he's doing OK there.

It was dumb if there's a chance it hits public hears (obviously it has), but like someone else said, this was a closed-door meeting. I imagine things like this are said all the time. Yes, it's not a smart thing to say. It doesn't, however, make it racist.

You telling someone they "just don't get it" is gold. Pure gold. Coming legal issues? What in the hell are you talking about? What legal issues would those be? You parrot your "journalists" from the MSM too much.

Blind to what is going on? Open your eyes, climb out of moms basement and take a look at the economy that is on absolute fire.
Haiti is currently rated as the most corrupt and least developed country in the hemisphere... I see a lot of people wringing their hands about potty mouth, but not a single person has actually offered a solid reason why we should be seeking out more poor people to import to this country when we are already headed for our own sovereign debt crisis to pay for he poor people that are born here.

I'd be curious to see how the people in Minnesota infected with TB from exposure to somolian refugees would characterize the presidents language.

What Trump allegedly said was not racist, he never mentioned race. Pointing out that the [BLEEP] Holes are "heavy majority black" IS racist, but that has been the theme of the Left.

Trump used Norway as a counter example because he had just met with the President of Norway, so that country was fresh in his mind. He didn't choose it because it was the whitest country. Unless you consider Middle Easterners "white," Norway, with 3% Muslim population, is far from the whitest country. By comparison Poland is 0.1% Muslim.

The main point that is lost in this discussion is that the US should put our nation's own interests first in immigration, not the needs of the immigrants.
