It's people who are still upset with Vick so this doesn't surprise me...
I just watched this guy's youtube highlights, I think he may have just scored another touchdown while I'm typing this!

Go to Jaguars.com and watch the video up of Nate Burleson on Good Morning Football talking about Westbrook. He shows a couple highlights spotlighting his double move and it's NASTY. Burleson thinks Westbrook will be a big playmaker for us. There's no doubt he has the talent.
I'll admit this was a pick I wasn't expecting and I knew little about him before the draft, but from what I've seen since he looks really exciting.

Like others I'm uncomfortable with his history and I think that a lot of fans will struggle to like the guy, at least until or unless he starts to perform on the field.
Quote:This is A-Robs replacement IMO if A-Rob struggles or wants more than hes worth when it comes to resign time.

Nope.

It's hard to replace 1400 yards and 14 TDs. With a good QB, Arob is a beast.

A-Rob had plenty of dropped passes right off his hands last year.  He was very underwhelming.  This is a prove-it year for him.

Yawn
I found Marrone's comments  yesterday on Westbrook (and receivers in general) enlightening regarding his approach to assessing and developing young players.

He stated that Westbrook will initially work at both outside positions during the offseason before learning the slot. He stated multiple reasons for this but the one that stood out was that he likes to evaluate receivers based on skill set and the one skill that he values the most is being able to play on the ball (right at the LOS - not backed off of it) and still beat press coverage.

The guys that can play on the ball and beat press are the most valuable and often most versatile.  The guys that don't excel there can play slot off the ball or in bunch/trips formations off the ball and have obviously more limited usefulness to the team.  (yet still be productive)

Since Westbrook only played one side in college, they want him to learn both outside spots first, get an evaluation of him beating coverage with pads on, and THEN take a look at him in the slot when he's ready to learn more.

It's a very sensible approach, and having Hurns, Greene and Walters around means they don't have to rush him to be "the guy" at slot receiver right away.

Love the Westbrook pick, but somebody else stands out even more on his own highlight reel.

The QB?
Quote:The QB?

Bingo but too bad the QB has the maturity of a 12-year-old
Fournette in rookie camp is huge on the kid. Says they practice together and building together.

The way he was talking. Westbrook believes he can become that guy at WR. Like Fournette will be at RB spot.

He had 3.

What's wrong Jagfanatic24 you don't like what you want to here so you just ignore the information that's in front of you? Arob numbers are legit but blake's numbers are inflated according to you right? Please do me a favor and stop being a crybaby about the situation and evaluate the team fairly.

He had three dropped passes in 2016 according to 2 different third party statistician websites.

The number of circus catches he made unnecessarily in traffic due to Blake's poor accuracy is exponentially  greater.

Do your research.

Well those websites are wrong because he dropped more than three passes this year he dropped two touchdown passes and three passes that ended up in an interception this this past season and that's not including the wide-open drop as he had in the last game of the season against the Colts so you do your research.

Last 3 years, most pick 6s and most ints....58

Not a natural passer. Throws ducks. Huge question mark for this entire team is none other than Buttles.
