Dude is a stud, he could turn out like a Tyreek Hill, had some off field issues but its the 4th round, thats where you take chances, 4.34 40 time, he can slide into the 4th WR spot

I dont get this pick.  It's not a need and the kid is a "degenerate".  Why take the risk on a potential headache?

Coughlin isn't an idiot. Got 2nd round talent in the 4th and is preparing for a diva like AR15 to leave. Like the pick.

Quote:Sorry, friend.  He was not BAP.  If they think he is, then the whole scouting department needs fired.

Dobbs and Peterman were still on the board.

Johnson, Banner, Siragusa, Asiata were all still on the board.
You just said Dede wasn't BAP, than mention those guys (minus Dorian Johnson)? Are you kidding me?

Dede has been consistently viewed as a 2nd rd pick value wise. If you don't think he's BAP or among the BAP options, than go watch the tape.
We need to stay BPA through out the draft and dont reach

If a guy you think can be an impact player in round FOUR and later, you take him. We're getting into the rounds where you either find gems or depth...not starting caliber players everywhere here.
Take either Jake Butt or Desmond King.  We need more award winners

exactly, we need to keep bringing in talent from all positions at this point, first 3rds you go BPA at need position day 3 you go pure BPA
I LOVE this pick.Unreal talent in rd 4.

Dede with punt returns,Lee with kickoff returns. And he had go route speed

Tom is getting the band back together.

Sees Fred in Fournette.  Sees Soward in Westbrook.  What's old is new again.

But seriously... the risk was removed by taking a second round talent in the fourth.  Remember, this is where we selected Ace Sanders as well.  If it doesn't pan out, you're not losing much.  But if it works, there appears to be much to gain.

Only word of caution here is that unless someone drops massively like Westbrook again, just about everyone will have a relatively equal grade this late.

So, BAP and need are likely to merge once again as we get to the bottom of the pool.

If this team had quality starters across the board, I'd agree.  But this team still has enough holes that they need to BAP at need position all the way to the 6th or 7th round.  The two greatest needs the team has is to fix its putrid OL and to find a viable qb to develop in case Bortles flames out (one good enough to push him a little this year because the other two we have on the roster can't).

YOU think they have holes everywhere, they clearly don't. They're going clear BAP/value picks after round two. Said as much with Smoot, saying it again with Dede.

I'd rather get a potential impact player than a fringe starter/depth piece on the inside of the OL if we don't like them. I guess if you prefer the latter, to each their own.

Expecting starters from rounds four and later is no recipe for success.  Help is not on the way from those picks.

Rounds four and later are like lotto picks.  You aren't expected to win, but if you do... great.  So if you're "banking" on return from any of the next picks you're setting yourself up for disappointment.  History tells us these picks don't live out their rookie contracts, much less become starters.
I would have seen a tight end as a much bigger need than a replacement for Rashad Greene, but can't complain about the value of the pick.

Hopefully his issues with ex-partner were overblown and firmly in the past.

So, I guess YOU think the OL has no holes.  The most sacked QB in the NFL over the last three years says hello.  So does one of the more pedestrian running games.  Rolleyes
Watched this guy a lot this year due to my girlfriend being a OU fan. This guy was ALWAYS open and when he got the ball he was gone.

What you're going to get at this point of the draft at OL are more Bowankos.  They're going to be in the OL "mix" but not likely standout starters.

If you choose to freak out about OL, that's your choice.  It would be wise to realize help isn't likely on the way.  I'd like to add some OL with the remaining picks as well, but understand the quality of players that are left on the board.  They aren't what you seem to think they are.  They are on competition level with what we already have.

I'm inclined to agree. Starting caliber Olinemen don't typically come from the 4th round or lower. By expecting as much, you're looking for the exception to the rule and that's not worth it imo.

Conversely, it isn't unprecedented at all for a 4th round wide out to blow up. I'm a little concerned with him putting his hands on a woman but at the same time, everyone also deserves a shot at redemption. It's up to him to make the most of this chance and get after it.

Never said it has no holes, but if you expect us to get a good starter in the late rounds of the NFL draft IDK what to tell you. This class has already been said to be very poor from the OL department. Yet YOU want to force a pick to help a need even if the player may not be worth a lick.

As for most sacked QB, it's improved every year and was much better pass pro wise last year. Final 6 games of the season we finished top 5 in rush yards. Is our OL great? No...but it isn't bottom of the barrel I don't think either. Plus, we grabbed Albert (tbd) and drafted Cam Robinson. We have made changes.
