Hi, Jaguars fans!
Our Jacksonville Jaguars will try to win a preseason game in front of their home fans, as they host the annual preseason rivalry with the visiting Atlanta Falcons.
Veteran first-string players traditionally play the majority of offensive and defensive series of downs during most of the the first half of the third preseason game. Reserve position players, veteran free agents, and undrafted college players signed after the 2018 NFL Draft will continue, like all NFL teams continue to be evaluated by their coaching staffsin live game action during the preseason games, as they audition to make the final cut from the current 90-man training camp roster, to the final 53-man regular season roster, by the 4:00PM Eastern Standard Time deadline on September 3.
Prior to the third preseason game last summer, Blake Bortles was battling for the starting QB job for the Jaguars, but this preseason he is clearly the starter for tonight, and for the season opener at the New York Giants on September 9.
Falcons though are withholding WR Julio Jones, and RB Devonte Freeman in the sidelines.
Jacksonville and Atlanta also are tied 3-3 in the all-time regular season series after 6 games. Falcons kicker Shayne Graham kicked two field goals from 33 and 46 yards in the fourth quarter to break the 17-17 tie, and win 23-17 on the road at then-named EverBank Field, in both teams last meeting back on December 20, 2015. Falcons also outscored the Jaguars 85 points to 62 in the previous six regular season games.
Brian Sexton, and Jaguars legend and former running back Fred Taylor are announicing the live TV game commentary, simulcast on WJAX CBS Channel 47, and the Jaguars Television Network, live on HD.
Jaguars will continue to provide free live online game streaming to the remaining preseason games, tonight's home game with the Falcons, and the finale at Tampa Bay, from their team website, to through your devices on the First Coast Football app, provided by WJAX CBS Channel 47, beginning with the Pre-Game coverage at 6:00PM Eastern Standard Time.
