Weak.

They only won because of the refs last time. Why would this time be any different? Against the Jaguars of 2017 the Patriots needed shockingly one sided officiating to save them on both sides of the ball. Sure, maybe the Jags could have done even more to overcome that disadvantage, and the Patriots did a great job taking advantage of what they were given. But for anyone to claim that bad and lopsided officiating didn't swing that game by more than the Patriots' margin of victory that day is ignorant or dishonest.

Since then the talent gap between the teams has swung in favour of the Jaguars. Against that, the Patriots are a team any same person would pick to outperform their talent and the Jaguars would probably be toward the other end of the scale.

As a fan of Bortles I'm going to call this one as a bad week for him, an opportunistic one for the Patriots and predict a 31-17 Patriots victory that isn't anywhere near as one sided as the scoreline suggests.

Thats why I am a predicting a loss. We will go up early, go super conservative and Brady will chip away the lead before taking it in the 4th. I saw nothing last week that convinced me Doug Marrone won't try to make the AFC Championship Game plan work again. Hes gonna do it, it is who he is. Pats 24 Jags 20

Couple things.

1. Do you really think the gameplan against the Pats will be the same as it was against the Giants? It won't be.
2. You think Marrone hasn't learned from past mistakes? Like not being aggressive against the Pats? I think he learned something.
Jags 30
Pats 28
28 Jags
26 pats
Man I hope the Jags win but I could see the Pats kicking butt and winning 34 to 10
So we have finally got to Pats week. Now this game won't erase January, I think a W here will be huge from a psychological standpoint. I've seen many teams beat themselves against them and plenty of teams who fall a score behind and their heads drop. It won't erase January but I think It will be huge to prove we can beat them and the future, any AFC playoff route has New England in it.

Pressure, constant pressure on Brady. Canon is doubtful and he's one of their better guards. Brady will look for the weak link and just go for matchup so Hayden and Jacobs need to step up. I think moving Ramsey to matchup with Beckham hasn't really been looked at and I wonder how much of an effect that had with some of the secondary play. I wouldn't have gone follow Gronk as it allows him to get moved around too much but they have no Edelman, Amendola, Cooks, Lewis. They just signed Coleman but he won't learn the playbook in a weak. Hogan and Gronk seem Brady's main weapons, we can limit that.

O, damn, someone just make a play. WR's need a big week, that looks a pretty open position so time someone claimed spots. O line need to step up but I think they will, week 1 in the road, it will click.

At the 'Bank, national game, I think this is the game we put the league and fans on notice.

This team is for real

Jags 28
Pats 13
Jags - 20
NE - 12
We have beat the Pats in the past. I believe we can beat them Sunday as long as the defense doesn't go soft like they did in January.

Last time we beat the Pats it was the pre-Brady era. (Brady is 8-0 all time vs Jaguars, Pats are 11-1 all time)
The lone victory of our Jags over the Pats came in 99.

And we don't wanna talk about 99

That was actually in the playoffs for the 98 season.
Have kind of a bad feeling about this game. Not that this score will be indicative of how we play the rest of the season, but that it will just be one of those games where the Pats have our number.

41 Pats
17 Jags
This game will be a true gauge on whether we have really turned the corner. Winning will be a sound endorsement for the players and coaches. Losing a close contest, especially if by effect of officiating, will show we're truly on the rise. Getting our [BLEEP] kicked will introduce an unshakable sense of doubt for the rest of the season. This will be a test for players and coaches. I honestly don't know if we'll win. I only hope for a good and honorable showing.
Refs wont be a deciding factor this time. Jags are getting national attention. The nfl is "selling" you guys to the nation. With that being said, the pats win 41 - 3
But the dog park will be hopping

I don't think its a matter of learning something. I think that last week and the AFC championship game is how he wants the Jags to be. He wants to build a lead and then turn the defense loose while we sit on it. Its a war of attrition type of mentality. He wants the other team to beat themselves. But that doesn't work well against the very best teams.

Changing my mind ( or rather ignoring logic). Jags over Pats. 24-20
