On the Ivory TD run we played Onemah and Alualu as TEs and just powered it in. If we need to do that a few times to set the tone then so be it.

You can't vote lack of offensive lineman talent without being able to point to the men responsible for the lack of said talent. I voted position coaches because I think it's more plausible out of the options that were given. We brought in Doug Marone to address our lineman woes and it's not showing up on the field. You can point at Caldwell a bit for not getting enough talent in here I suppose but it's hard to get mad at a guy like that when he's done decently in other areas on the football team. It's safe to say Joeckel hasn't panned out at LT. And Cann has had his moments. And we just had to kick Linder over into Center this season.
So it's just been a nightmare of a carousel since this era began. Leading the leauge in sacks surrendered since 2014 with no legitimate running game consistently showing up clearly shows somebody messed up big time along the way here or just simply overlooked an underrated aspect of football. Just look at the mess the clots have themselves in right now with Luck having virtually nobody to protect him. They're in the same situation as us. Hopefully they can start clicking down the stretch. If this team finishes 7 - 9 or 8 - 8 I'll be a happy camper as a fan in the 2017 off-season. But we certainly need to bolster this offensive line. How crucial is it now that we didn't get to sign Alex Mack to play center for us? Linder would have been left alone at G where he aught to be.

The Colts are not in the same position as the Jags in terms of offensive line talent, and I disagree with the 'inference' that the Jags have virtually no one to protect the QB. Also, brevity soul of wit.

I voted to put the blame on the position coaches.
I think we have good enough talent on our offensive line. But it seems like our offensive linemen are getting beat off the snap, with defensive linemen hitting the running back in the backfield.

The oline is dead last in rushing yards before contact when running right, but a little above average when running middle or left. I think overall they have been slightly below average at run blocking...a contributing factor but not the #1 problem.

Quote:To have a good run game, I feel we need to get a FB. They just seem to go hand in hand. In fact of the top 5 rushing teams only the 49ers lack a FB.i agree. we need a fullback
