It just amazes me there are sill idiots out there wanting bortles to play, its actually hard to fathom. Kessler may not win us any games, but hes better than bortles.

The ONLY argument for starting bortles is if we are purposefully tanking for draft picks.. in which case I would be ok with cuz this teams done

But kessler is the better qb only because how unbelievably bad and inept bortles is

He guys is an absolute awful quarterback

Are people ready to give up on the "injury" excuse on the line and just accept that they suck?

With Kessler we have a pulse. The entire team was estatic he went in. Why it took Marrone so long ? He didn't want to look anymore foolish. Marrone is in the top 5 worst coaches in the game. Kessler will run his crap offense just fine, hopefully the defense wakes up.

Putting it on Marrone is laughable.  He benched Bortles in week 6 after his GM just gave Borltes a huge contract.  Balls

No - I still think you’re a fool to think that injuries to the o-line aren’t part of the problem.

I lobbied for o-line help in the draft that didn’t happen. I’m not happy about it.  And Norwell looked rough before injury, but just ignoring injuries is stupid. It’s a significant factor.

He didn't do anything. He literally lost the team and the fans, his hand was forced. He was praying Bortles would make a play so he didn't have to do this to make his bologna gut look even more foolish.  The entire defense was fired up he FINALLY made a change. The entire team actually played with ENERGY! Fans actually cheered! We have a pulse with Kessler and it's that simple.

We can blame LT on injuries that's it. Stop ignoring that there's 4 starters out there. They need to play better.

It's because af Borles dummy.  Not the head coach
Kesseler 21-30 for 156 yards 1 td 1 int(not his fault)

Threw the ball with confidence, tight spirals, accurate.

Kessler deserves the start

Stop ignoring three of those four starters are playing through injury.
Quicker relase, better ball placement, same things we heard most of the offseason from beat writers. He isn't a world beater but let's see what he can do with gameplan, in week reps and starting 0-0 with teams having to respect the running game too.
Season is probably over are there are way too many issues on this football team at the moment, but let's see what he can contribute.
Are we going to ignore the fact that the defense didn't prepare for Kessler?

I'm not saying it wasn't the right move to bench Bortles but let's calm down and see how Kessler does when a team has a full week to prepare to go against him.

yea anyone thinking he's going to save our season is in for a huge disappointment. I don't disagree the Bortles era has come to a crashing end but let's try and keep it real with our Kessler expectations.

It'll be the same offense. Kessler just runs it better because he is way more accurate and will be able to get the ball to receivers in stride.

Yeah. I don’t think he’s going to light the world on fire when teams prepare for him, but I think he gives the offense more options to move the sticks - and those defenses will have to do more than they do to prepare for Bortles right now.

Yep he isn't a great QB, but he can be good enough if he is able to make quick throws on target. OL and WRs still didn't block and catch with him in the game. He is ok at best.

Bortles has a much higher ceiling, but it is time to make the change for 1 game to see what happens.

Bortles was once again holding the ball too long and not making quick decisions. Kessler does that, so the OL has a chance. They have to take some deeper throws though to keep the defense honest.

Nah. It’ll change a bit.

Hackett had the receivers spread way more often with Kessler in there. He’ll start using the dink and dunk pages from his air Coryell bag of tricks with Kessler.  Bortles has struggled to execute that stuff and so half of it was omitted. It will work with Kessler.
Something needed to change on offense and switching QBs was the easiest thing to do. Kessler played exactly how they want the QB to play and looked serviceable, but we'll see if that can be sustained or if it was a quick shot in the arm that briefly woke the offense up. I can't see how they go back to Bortles next week after Kessler's performance.
Has it been confirmed they're rolling with Kessler moving forward?

Marrone said it's open, but I can't see how you put Bortles right back in after the prolonged slump the offense has been in. Kessler moved the ball consistenly enough to earn the start next week.

You're right. Playbook definitely is a bit more open now.

Likely won't say anything so the Eagles have to prep for both QBs. Coaches normally do that in these situations.

Hyde should also be good to go next week and that should help

No, but it sends a terrible message if he goes right back to Bortles after just benching him. I don't see how anybody would take him seriously after doing that.
