To be fair half our defensive roster is pro bowl talent and if you look at em all in a vacuum for this season, they'd all look like busts.
I don't know why you all expected a project to be producing from the get go.

Would have preferred Hernandez or Lamar or him but I also didn't expect Bryan to be an impact player year 1. The hope is that you see him develop a bit as the year goes on.

Replace Lamar with Goedert and I agree with everything here
why is he a project now? plenty of projects can flash in limited time... even just a QB pressure, anything

he has shown literally nothing

we can do what some of you always do and pretend there isnt an issue, and that it is normal for a 1st round pick to look no different from a 7th round pick, but it IS concerning, no matter how much you try to say otherwise

What's concerning is that our whole defense looks like trash compared to last year... not Taven Bryan.

agreed, however most of them still have had plays where they make a play or do well.. bryan has not

Except that Alualu was picked in the top-ten because Miami bluffed flsprtsgod into burning the pick. Bryan was drafted where Alualu should have been.

The guy was drafted as a project.. he wasn't expected to come in and produce right away because frankly hes not a outstanding football talent, just a physical one. We can argue that it wasn't a good draft pick, frankly I'd probably agree because i was hoping we'd take Sony Michel to be honest with you... but he wasn't supposed to produce this year. He was supposed to produce 2019/2020. So judging him, in a year where already proven players are having bad years, in a year where he wasn't even supposed to come in and contribute heavily, is frankly... stupid and redundant. We weren't pinning our hopes on Taven Bryan, drafting a position of strength in the first round...

It's stupid that we took a luxury pick last year. FO was content with the state of the team and that's not a recipe for success in the NFL. But there are so many problems with our team before I'd even think of labeling Bryan's lack of contribution as one of them.

Damn that Caldwell, screwing us all the way from Atlanta!

Wow. Back here so fast. Our drafting sucks again.

Let's fire everyone and gut the roster.

i agree his lack of production is no where near one of our biggest issues

it was just another awful pick

Homeboy! If this guy turns a corner during year two or three and begins playing solid ball, I fully expect you to come on here and have a public crow eating party.

Not promising anything ... but the kid isn't halfway through his rookie year yet. The jury hasn't even left the room yet.

Yeah I think this is what I failed(and tried) to get across... I think he was a bad pick, but not because his lack of production this year. I was trying to convey his lack of production falls in line with what the FO expects from him, and that is to contribute down the road after some development... not to come in day one and get sacks. It's hard to say that won't come to fruition, so it's impossible to say whether the FO was wrong and thus missed on their pick. I just don't agree we take that sort of pick at this point in our rebuild...It's still very possible Bryan ends up beasting it in 2020, and at that point I'd still stand by what I think, because this team needed help this year, not in 2020.

Look, if the Front Office isn't cutting the #1 pick before the Draft concludes then they aren't doing their job.

Agree with all of the above.
