Either that - or he's more hands off with those duties than many of us imagined.

I am beginning to wonder what it is he actually does...

When I try to share the roster issues with him people tell me "Caldwell is the GM!!"
When we wonder about the coaching issues, now it seems he maybe isn't bringing the "If you're on time you're late" attitude?

Why was he brought here?
...

He was brought in because ownership liked Caldwell but were trepidatious about trusting him to make picks and big FA decisions on his own.  They wanted a "braintrust."

So far...  so bad.
We got some talented guys but it looks as if they don’t have the mental toughness needed to sustain success. When things started to go south they gave up
our team isn’t that good get over it

myles is ok
telvin is just a fast undersized line backer with no brain and doesn’t know anything about coverage.

our d line is old

yannick is small

ramsey is the only bright spot

harrison looks ok... his INT last night was garbage. he got beat and mariota threw the ball 10 yards over his WR head

there’s not a lot to look forward too
Marrones gonna stay unless we lose out I think. Chris Polian promoted to GM.

Tom and Doug are tight but don't be surprised if Tom hires someone at OC/DC who he wants to eventually take over.
marrone looks clueless in the press conferences

Not sure why went to committee again as we tried that with Del Rio/Shack Harris etc and it didn’t work then. Hard to trace accountability

Different ownership groups.

It comes down to the Khans being inexperienced and unsure of themselves and unsure of Caldwell.

It made sense on paper, and nearly the whole lot of Jags fans seemed to agree at the time. Caldwell had made some good picks and some bad ones, maybe with TC making the final call and acting as a sounding board, the F.O. would improve it's ratio of hits and misses.

Just isn't working out that way so far.

It's anyone's guess what happens next and who will be calling the shots. They could react to this miserable season in a myriad of ways.

Given Marrone's exit from Buffalo when he wasn't thrilled with his new bosses, I can't really see Doug sticking around if choosing his own OC/DC is a duty he's unceremoniously stripped of.

It's the coaches call on that traditionally - with the suits simply signing off - or settling a decision between candidates.

If that just becomes a Coughlin thing suddenly - may as well jettison the HC while you're at it since you don't agree with who he'd have assembling and calling plays.

Doug is as good as gone. You could see the dead behind his eyes last night when the camera was on him. He has lost his passion for coaching.
lol ... so many Dr. Phils ... "dead behind his eyes" ... such melodrama. So many fans of soap operas.

I'm sure you share the same traits if we could see you behind your -19 reputation rating.

I don't know if he's lost his passion for coaching, but he knows he's gone soon. You can just tell by looking at his demeanor. If we know it, I'm sure he does....

Then why make him suffer till the end of the season. Let him go today along with Walsh. TC can come down and finish the season.

Oh I agree. It doesn't benefit anyone keeping him to the end of the season. But unless we have a possible candidate, I doubt they make that call right now. And TC isn't going to come down and coach. Just let the season run it's course. We will lose out the remainder and then a new HC can come in and get his own QB....

I am guessing TC enjoys "being mad" in the sky box over being a proverbial punching bag for 3 games. At this point, you just need to let them game plan as usual to ensure a decent draft pick.

The last thing we need is a couple of meaningless wins against teams with nothing to play for that will somehow convince everyone we have turned the corner.
