Since we are posting a bit here and there about senior bowl players with measurements, interviews, practice reports and all that I thought we could use a thread to post what's happening.
Zach Goodall @
Doug Marrone, John Idzik, Tony Khan... #Jaguars have a big Senior Bowl presence this year.
Tom Coughlin, Dave Caldwell, John DeFilippo and Scott Milanovich also there.
Watching the practices today and I'm really impressed by Washington RT Kaleb McGary. He's pancaking guys right and left. The only drawback is that he's only played RT in college. I'd love to see them get him some reps at LT as well. I also liked what I saw from Charlotte RG Nate Davis. I literally knew nothing about this guy before today, but he has excellent handwork and technique. He latches onto defenders and doesn't let go. All around, I really see some good O-Line talent out there.

McGary is a guy I really like and someone I feel could replace Parnell day one. A lot of college experience and at RT

He looked like the best OT out there today. I just wish I could see him at LT too. Having a Tackle who can play either side is extremely important to me. We have nothing behind Robinson and he's coming off a serious injury. IMO, if we drafted McGary, we'd still have to draft another OT who can be a swing tackle, because like McGary, Will Richardson has never played LT.

There are very few guys that play both tackle positions good. Id be more than happy with McGary. Hopefully we resign Wells, who is good depth that the tackle position

I agree on both counts. I am hoping McGary will be there for us in the 2nd round.
Conversely, the Wisconsin linemen did not look good, and the RT from Alabama State_Tytus Howard looked rattled by the moment. He had countless false starts and was absolutely abused by the DE from Miss. St. I also liked what I saw from Washington St. LT Andre Dillard, and to a lesser degree Northern Illinois LT Max Scharping (I wouldn't mind him in the 3rd round if the early round emphasis is on offensive skill positions)
I was also impressed by the defensive talent there. Montez Sweat, the guy who abused Howard above, looked like an absolute stud.
I was also impressed with DT Daylon Mack, who had a good showing last week in the E-W shrine game, DT Greg Gaines, and CB Rock Ya Sin.
What do y'all know about Renell Wren? I saw more tweets about his dominance today than anyone else.

I don't know about Wells. I wasn't impressed with him before 2017.
He played quite well in 2017, then seemed to regress until he got hurt this past season.
I want to go back and look at the QBs, but the guy who stood out to me was Grier, and not in a good way. He was behind his receivers for most of the day from what I saw. But I'm not going to be too hard on him just yet. It was his first day of practice with brand new receivers, and the first pass he missed was a play action that had him rolling to his left and throwing against his body.

I thought he had a decent year this passed year until he got hurt. I was never a fan until Cam went down but I thought he played pretty well. Looked really good in training camp and preseason too. Some players just take time, especially back ups. What position did he impress you with in 2017? Was it when Parnell went down?

I was impressed with him when he was in for Cam Robinson. I thought he would be a disaster there, but he was a pleasant surprise.
But this year he seemed to play closer to what I expected last year.
Not a complete disaster, but clearly a liability.

I
HATE this option.

This was a guy I mentioned on the board a couple of months ago. Mack is a stud NT with pass rushing ability. He'd be a perfect replacement for Dareus and should upgrade our run defense.

What did you think of the LT from USC, Edoga?

With QB's, it normally takes a few days in practice to get on the same page as his new receivers. I'm taking a lot of this stuff with a grain of salt until I see these guys in game situations.

I was impressed, but measuring in at only 6'3 1/2" makes me believe he should kick inside to OG. I just don't see him as an NFL LT.

At 295, I don't see him as big enough to be a G, and don't think he could hold up against a big, powerful DT inside. I'd rather keep him outside, where his feet can be an asset-assuming, of course, he is truly 6'3 and 1/2. If he gets to the combine and measures under 6'3, then I would have a hard time leaving him at T, unless his arm length measures exceptionally long.
He's another guy I wouldn't mind in the 3rd round or lower. He could play LT or G, and is the type of player who could, at minimum, maximize our depth with his versatility.

According to the official weigh ins today, he was 6'3 1/2" and 303 lbs. with an 81 1/8" wingspan.

That wingspan could block out the sun.

The largest wingspan at the Senior Bowl was OT Oli Udoh of Elon who had an 85" wingspan. That's huge!

Haha. Are his parents 747's?
