Yea. That's kinda of the point I was making.
Rosen was set up for failure last season. No offensive weapons (I love Larry but he's not the same), the absolute worst Oline in football and 2 OCs who had no idea what they were doing. Of course Rosen is going to look terrible.
A new coach, new system and new weapons will hopefully allow Rosen to be a better QB.

Only care about average QB play from my QB Blake. What's the excuse for Rosen and not utilizing david and fitz/Kirk. Was he limited in pass attempts, what happened

From what I saw, he was dealing with a TON of drops and pressure pretty much immediately from the snap. He put a lot of balls out that that are highlight plays if the receivers would catch the ball when it hits them in the hands.

Like I said, I love Larry but he's nothing like he used to be. Kirk was a 2nd round rookie who played in 12 games. DJ wasn't be utilized like he should have been especially as a pass catcher and they had the worst OLine in football. Rosen didn't play well and also made some bad throws but I think he still has a lot of good traits for an NFL QB. He processes plays quickly, has a quick release and keeps his eyes downfield.
There's no comparing Rosen in his rookie season with the worst team in football to the 5th year starter in Blake.

It still begs the question, though- why would you spend the 10th overall pick on a QB, and then after ONE SEASON trade him away for a 2nd or 3rd round pick? The Cardinals spent every day with the guy, every practice, every meeting. They know what he is. And if they're willing to deal him away after one year, I say buyer beware.

I agree with all of this. I wonder if going one and done on a team humbles him a bit. The only reason I like foles over him is the possible connection him and the oc will have. I feel like he can hit the ground running a little better than any of our other options.

First, it's all speculation. The 2nd or 3rd rounder is just a price random people threw out there.
Secondly, this has everything to do with Kingsbury and Kyler. It really doesn't have anything to do with Rosen. If Kliff is out there saying "In order for me to be successful, I need Kyler as my QB" then of course the front office is going to try and make that happen. And if other teams know he wants Kyler and they need to get rid of Rosen, why would anyone offer a 1st rounder?

Exactly this...Kingsbury believes that Murray is the type of QB he needs for his system to work. He and Rosen aren't anything alike.
If you were a coach and had a square peg you were trying to fit in a round hole (Rosen) but had the opportunity to fit in a square hole instead (Murray) which would you pick?
Most would say change your peg (scheme) to fit with Rosen. But if you believe the speculation, Kingsbury doesn't want to do that.

I'll eat my words if this isn't the case, but Kliff Kingsbury is going to be a disaster, and Steve Keim will mightily regret catering to his every whim.

I mean what choice does Keim have? He hired him and if Kliff thinks Kyler is his best chance at success, he has to do it.
I have no clue how Kliff will be as a HC but if I did hire him, I would give him what he needs to be successful because my job depends on it.

That's fair, but Keim is now essentially admitting he screwed up HUGE in last year's draft. We're drafting one of the shortest kids in history, with a very small frame, to be our franchise QB and run an offense that hasn't worked to date in the NFL. Not to mention that Kingsbury couldn't win consistently with EITHER Mayfield or Mahomes at QB. And we're going to pretend with that patchwork O-line and depleted receiving core that Murray is going to be successful?
Texas Tech fired the dude. Texas freakin' Tech. I just think Keim has written his own pink slip with this one. I get that he needs to draft Murray because Kliff was his choice, and Kliff gets what he wants at this point. It makes sense, but I really see them sinking for the next decade because of it.
So, Monday starts legal tampering. If these reports are true, I wonder if we’ll hear an “agrees in principle” then. Either way, we don’t have much longer to find out.

Thank god.
Once free agency begins, you can really get a better understanding of the direction teams will be going in the draft. If the Jags go out and sign someone like Jared Cook, you can expect Oline with pick #7. If they go out and sign someone like Daryl Williams or Juwan James, expect TE at pick #7.

James MIGHT set the market at RT. I could almost see them do a Jesse James/along with bring back ASJ, which would point to a drafting of Taylor out of Florida. That kid is a mauler. Cam/Norwell/Linder/?(Richardson?)/Taylor slots in to be a pretty strong line. Keep Flowers/Wells as swing tackles and Omameh/Shatley as back up Gs. Under the radar FA WR signing (Jordan Matthews/Golden Tate) mixed with Westbrook, a 2nd year seasoned and healthy Chark, plus hopefully a healthier and more clear headed/team player Fournette: this SHOULD look like a completely different and more important, more FUNCTIONAL offense.
That should get the defense back to 2017 levels of production.
Nfl network has free agent spotloght. Foles on and watching him makes me feel better about signing him
Nick Foles showcase tonight on NFL Network...showing the Eagles vs the Texans.

Apparently they're looking at Teddy B too.
Foles isn't a done deal.

If we sign Foles, it would be a long term, expensive deal. Bridgewater would be nothing more than a short-term, bridge QB. I like that plan better.
