Foles to me seems like a late bloomer, so I can understand the hesitance. Maybe Bortles will be a late bloomer as well. Maybe it took Foles being in the right system ... I don't know why for sure, but Foles is by far better than he was earlier in his career. It's a what have you done lately league.

I agree with this, some players it takes longer than others

They're just more proof that you draft your QB and build around him on his rookie contract. Not cap strap yourself by going after some FA QB, who is a FA for a reason... AKA because they really aren't any good.

The Saints were so stupid to go after Drew Brees.

You didnt watch us play the year before last when we were some what healthy?  No team in the league good of had a good season with the injuries we had this year.  We have pretty much the same team as the year we made the AFC championship team.  Only if we could add a SB MVP QB to replace Bortles

You realize that the Saints got Brees 13 years ago13.  It is extremely rare and there is no way you can compare Foles to Brees.  And even then it took 4 years to get to the Super Bowl.

You seriously overrate Foles ability.
I really like the fact that we have his QB coach the year he won the SB here as our OC so I feel he know what Foles does best and can get the best out of him

People never bring up his multiple NFL passing records either, like most TDs in a game and record for straight completions in a game.  They dont like to bring up his 27 TDs and 2 Ints in season either.  Straight trash lol

And I love the people that over exaggerate to try to make their point.

Show me anybody that said he's trash.

Excuses excuses, he said QBs are FA for a reason, because the aren't good.  I gave multiple QBs that where good when the hit FA.  Foles isnt Brees but he would be the best QB we have had since Brunell and he is one of the most clutch QBs in the league.  There is also no question of if he can win a SB because he has already done it.

OK, we'll play your game.  Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson have won Super Bowls too.  They must be really good.

One of the most clutch quarterbacks in the league.  You have got to be kidding me.  You set your sights pretty low if you only want a quarterback better than Brunell.
I love how every thread is now hijacked by Foles discussion.

He's not even on the Jags....

You cant be that dense.  Their defenses carried them, do you even football? Foles got SB MVP while Brady threw for over 500 yards.  Foles was a huge part of that SB win.  Iv'e schooled you in every one of your post so far lol.  Here is a couple good ones for you

'Schooled me'.  LOL...LO...freakin'...L.

So what happened to Mr. Clutch in the second half of the N.O. game?
Alshon Jeffery happened.

That was the whole second half, huh?  They threw to him every play, right?
(02-01-2019, 09:56 AM)Inziladun Wrote: [ -> ]Alshon Jeffery happened.
Stop.

Mr. Clutch Foles managed to score 16 against the Bears and 14 against the Saints all while throwing 2 interceptions in each game. Mr. Clutch Foles scored ZERO POINTS in the last 3 quarters of the Saints game.
Salary cap is fine.

Foles has many questions marks and also

That's what scares me. I've seen regression in Foles, since the Superbowl. He gets careless with the ball sometimes and forces it into spots he shouldn't throw into, like he is trying to prove something. He is an upgrade over Bortles, that's obvious, but it's not significant enough to warrant a $25-30 million price tag. I'd rather give up draft picks and try to move up and get Haskins, (who I believe has a higher ceiling and would be much cheaper), rather than to overpay for a veteran QB who doesn't look like the same guy who won a Superbowl last year.
the problem with discussing things with flgators is he usually puts his blinkers on and dies on a hill over people he likes (usually subpar QBs interestingly enough).

I think Foles would be a good fit in Jacksonville but A) No way am i expecting him to be a top 10 QB here B) No way am i giving him 100 million over 4 years C) A QB contract on a rookie deal is the biggest team building advantage in the sport right now

Other than Goff, what other QB has led his team to a SB on a rookie deal? Wentz was on a rookie deal but sat the bench while Foles led his team to win it. Marino? Elway? Big Ben? Brady?
