its still work to many of them. Its a job, a job with great perks and pay but also with some grave physical downsides of playing along with a relatively short window to make the most of things.

I don't know why you care about other grown men having voluntary sessions

Florio implying that sanctions are imminent is just Florio being Florio.

It could blow over with no action taken just as easily.

I expect TC to get a phone call or two and letters  from the league and players assoc, but i wouldn’t count on much beyond that.

Saying he thinks they should all be there how is that pressuring them?

But who is "offended" by his comments?

The question is not whether the comments are offensive, but whether they violate in fact  or spirit, the letter of the collective bargaining agreement to which the NFL's member teams agree to be bound.

I think the snide comments from the NFLPA and several players show it.

Frankly, this wouldn't be an issue if they weren't sensitive to his comments. Coughlin didn't attempt to force anyone or even imply that not attending would be held against players. This is a complete nonissue.

It wouldn't be an issue if Tom kept his mouth closed lol he caused a much bigger distraction than Ramsey or Telvin skipping the sessions by doing his old man yells at cloud act

Was it the fall of the Soviet Union that caused all Americans to become giant wusses?

Considering how much Coughlin is a stickler for rules, and he has a firm grasp of the English language, he could have completely avoided language that could have even remotely created any doubt as to his message and intent.

Remember, this is the same coach who fined Tavian Banks and another player I can't remember for being late to a team meeting when their car flipped over on the Main Street bridge on the way to the meeting.  This is a man who has fined guys for wearing flip flops during the pre game walk through and has rules against coaches wearing shades during practice, players sitting on their helmets while on the sidelines during practice, and against player being a mere five minutes early for practice.  If anyone should follow the letter and spirit of any rule, it's Coughlin, even if he disagrees with it.  Failure to do so undercuts his entire message.

The NFLPA is a spoiled union which only drives up salaries and ultimately ticket prices.  I have zero sympathy for today's soft NFL.  Leaders lead.  Coughlin is a phenomenal leader.
