I Hope We lose?

Haters Are going to be Haters.

NH3...
Any real fans here from the Gus era? Losing stinks but losing by 30 stinks more. We have been competitive week in and week out.

But we won? Why is everyone on here and FB posting like we lost? Look, the Bengals are 0-7 but they have not been slouches every single week. Examples.

Bengals 20 Seahawks 21 (GASP! Hawks must be ba.. oh, 5-2) 1 point W
Bengals 17 Bills 21 (OH BUT THE BILLS ARE SHI... Oh, 5-1) 4 point W
Bengals 17 Ravens 23 (AHA THE RAVENS FOR SURE SUC... Oh, 5-2). 6 point W

Have the Bengals had some bad games? YES! But "better" perceived teams than our own beat the Bengals by a smaller margin of victory than we did... Enjoy the win. We dominated them everywhere but the scoreboard early on, we finally put some scores together though, we did fine.

I agree.....bungles are last in so many stats ....but their losses have been close.
They came to play yesterday and thankfully the Jaguars woke up and
pulled the win out with a decent margin.
Defense,Offense and Special Teams were pulling together for a change.
i'm happy today.
The broadcast team admitted they were protecting a "rookie" QB with their game plan.  We have youth everywhere and they are playing it very tight and safe.  Look at how bad the Cowboys were playing and then what they did to the Eagles last night.  NFL..   wins are hard to get.

Did anyone see the broadcast truck taking up the Minshew Moustaches?  I mean seriously we whined forever that we didn't get good national attention.  Guess what, they were gushing about the guy all game.  Just enjoy it already.  This isn't a superbowl team and will probably be behind expectations but if you had told me we traded away our "best player" and our starting QB went down with an injury game 1 that we would be competitive, I would have taken it.

Team has been tough overall.  Last year we got embarrassed by the Titans early in the season.  When have you been embarrassed with the team on the field this year?
We beat a winless team. Only Jags fans are delusional enough to be happy about this. The combined record of opponents we beat are 5-16.

We know you'd be happier if we lost.
What coach and gm do you know that we can hire who has a magic wand? I don’t know that any of us are “happy”. We aren’t where we want to be yet in terms of wins and playoffs. But this is a good staff. Not great, but good. I’m willing to ride with them the rest of the season and see how it goes.

Since it is very clear to all that you are NOT a Jags fan I have to wonder what kind of head case you are to constantly post on a random teams forum. Do you also visit other teams forums and spew your constant drivel and whimpering? Is there a team that you ARE actually a fan of? If so, do us a favor and limit your drivel to their forum. Thanks , now move along before I have to get my belt out.

What's the alternative? Be sad we beat a winless team? Seriously, you Madden players should put down the console and watch a real game now and then.

Our team beat another NFL team.  There is very little difference between teams in this league.

Seriously, put down your Madden game and climb out of your mother's basement.

And the combined record of the opponents who beat us?

6-1 New Orleans
4-2 Carolina
4-3 Houston
5-2 Kansas City

19-8

How 'bout that, our opponents are 24-24, and we're right about .500 ourselves.  Would love to be better, but the team is competitive and actually really entertaining this year.

Average. Just where most Jags fans want to be....in perpetuity. Also you have proven my point for me. We have zero quality wins. We win against teams that are bottom of the trash heap and lose to good teams. This season is a wash just like most have been for the past decade.

I don't think we're a playoff team unless something magically improves.

So I'm thinking I'm going to quit worrying so much about whether we can make a playoff push and just try to enjoy each win as it comes.

Overall, in spite of being just 3-4, this has been a very enjoyable season.  We have some great young players making some unexpectedly spectacular plays at times.  Minshew, Allen, Chark, even Taven Bryan.  Fournette has made a huge comeback from last season.  Dede Westbrook.  Josh Lambo.  It's entertaining to watch.

Honestly if you watch football every year like the rest of us, this isnt hard to understand.  Some teams struggle against top opponents and slip in a few wins.  They also beat the teams they should beat and try to split in their division.  3 wins in a division split, 4 against teams you should beat even in a close game, and 2 or 3 upsets of top tier comp.  Thats 9 to 10 wins and a playoff birth hopefully.  Thats the NFL people...IJS

With 2017 being the exception ... this team hasn't even been AVERAGE in the last DECADE. I will gladly take a .500 season after watching hot garbage take the field since Garrard was forced out. This season is far from over and we have winnable games coming up. Enjoy the ride, lets see what happens.

Wow, average with a back up rookie 6th round QB at the helm since the 1st quarter of week 1. Quite the accomplishment!

To expand a little more:
The KC loss happened with losing the starting QB within the first few minutes
The other 3 loses were with a 6th round rookie QB. Also in the midst of your best defensive player demanding a trade and missing games due to a phantom injury.

The loses were by a combined 29 points which comes out to an average of just over 7 points per loss. Take away the Chiefs loss, and its a total of 15 points, 5 points on average.

Every time an issue arises, they correct it the following week.
Whether its working on run defense, turnover differential, or rush offense, this team has shown they can improve week to week.
