"They're all on the chopping block now."

And would have to know it too.

You would've quit too.

Probably.... I believe they were forcing him to play EJ Manuel when he was winning with Kyle Orton or something

Yep, that's exactly what happened. Kinda reminiscent of benching the 'Stache for The Contract now that you mention it...

Yeah, except I don't believe he was forced to make that move (back to Foles). They were winning games with an average at best QB in Orton and ownership/GM wanted to force the draft selection on him. Which was a hefty contract for first round QBs back then.

This situation was slightly different with Minshew playing well but he had regressed some and Foles was SUPPOSED to be a better QB.
I'm not sure Manuel was ever supposed to be a good QB except to the dolt that picked him.

Of course they have to know. It's all over but the crying. Of course it's a lot easier to cry when you can dry your tears with a lot of cash laying around for mediocrity at your profession.

We're all anxiously waiting but I hope Khan gets it right this time. I can't see this city and fan base stomaching another decade of this nonsense. I mean, we probably will. But they don't deserve it. I hate how we get ragged on as a city and fan base at times. But can you really blame the majority of us?

He's firing Doug Marrone and promoting Decamillis for the rest of the way. Has to be. This is now Coughlin trying to save his job.
If that happens...

does the interim coach put in Minshew?

If he has any brains? Yes. It would only serve to make him look more competent for a potential job next year. Showing the competence that the previous coach lacked is smart.
Listening to Coughlin's press conference now. He isn't firing Marrone and is encouraging the fans to come out to the remaining home games. "We have 5 games to win and it's a 5 game schedule blah blah blah blah blah blah blah."

It's so hard being a fan of this team. Especially as someone who has never lived a day in Florida....I have the easiest out of any fan of a team but yet I stick by them for some reason.

Come on now. Foles is an average at best QB who got hot in the playoffs. Just like Flacco.

They felt forced to play Foles because they couldn't risk Minshew having another "rookie" game. They're now going to be fired.

Going to look embarrassing when they get pistol whipped at home this Sunday. Winston will be lucky to have his job next year in Tampa Bay due to his inconsistencies and lack of security with the football. And yet, they'll probably hang 30 or more points on us.

I didn't know Khan was paying Coughlin to be a whipping boy for him. Didn't know he was a cheerleader. I thought he was supposed to be a mover and shaker who had the intestinal fortitude to make the hard decisions. Guess I was wrong.

God that was pathetic.

Begging fans to come out after getting destroyed in three straight division games is something else. Didn't really answer any questions well and brushed off others.

The sooner hes gone the better for everyone

Make no mistake. This coaching staff is going to be fired because their team gave up 700 freaking yards on the ground over the course of 3 consecutive divisional games.

Not because they went from a rookie, late rounder QB who was plateauing/showing bad habits to a vet coming off injury who was the intended starter in the first place.

I'm sorry, I don't want a retread coach with retread ideas.

Belichick isn't calling other teams asking what they're doing... other teams call him and he hangs up.

And I'm not saying Marrone is even in the same league as Belichick, but if you want to be an NFL coach - you better have an original idea. I mean it's one of 32 jobs in the entire world. We deserve better than this guy.

An original idea would have been to put Keelan Cole in at LT.

Careful what you ask for.

Why not Myles Jack? They don't seem interested in playing him at his natural position anyway, so why not?
Breaking News:

In a desperate bid to bolster attendance numbers for the last few Jaguars home games Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Tom Coughlin, announced today that Jeff Gillooly has been hired as a "Quarterback Consultant". More details to follow.

I respectfully disagree. The problem is QBs get lauded when their teammates are playing great and helping to elevate their abilities.

Look at Goff. As soon as the oline stinks he looks horrendous. Same with Foles. Our 2017 offence was underated and highly efficient. Then the oline injuries set in 2018 and every QB since has looked horrendous except minshew and most of his best play is pure playmaking on broken plays.

Brissett is as mediocre as it gets and now he is getting wins, why? A great oline.

Unless you have a brady, manning or Brees you want to spend money on a great oline/D. Phillip Rivers has got nowhere near a championship for example.

You pretty much further cemented the fact that this is exactly why this front office and coaching staff need to go. You don't over spend on a pocket passer when you don't have the offensive line in place or intact to protect said pocket passer.

And you especially don't keep a head coach that's played in the NFL at the offensive line level for a few years and then essentially cuts his teeth over the years coaching said position all the way up until riding Sean Payton's coattails as a "Offensive Coordinator" for two years to see literally next to no improvement at the positions he's supposed to be GOOD at it since he's been here.

It's so damn mind numbing sometimes. Our offense was effective in 2017 thanks to the ground game and the fact that this [BLEEP] team played NOBODY on offense due to a plethora of teams with QB issues, injuries and/or concerns. We saw Grant and a few other trick plays performed on special teams just to keep that offense on the field at times. Defense would feast on low bearing fruit QB's and then lay down against guys like Gabbert, Mariota, McCown and a struggling Jimmy G at that time in San Francisco.

That was a fluke [BLEEP] year for this team.
Again...wanting Minshew anywhere near this current organization is dumb fans starved for that sweet, sweet mediocrity. Wallow in garbage.
