As I was saying  ^

Flip is out officially.
He certainly wasn't the weakest link in the Jags staff - but the struggles of the run game at critical moments and in the red zone don't leave him blameless.

At least we can know now the theory Marrone won't make any changes is officially debunked.

I think it sends a signal that they aren't sold on Foles as the 2020 starter at the very least.

It sure is curious, though, that the most obvious change that needs to be made wasn’t announced first. Or at all.

The curious timing likely had to do with DeFilippo seeing greener pastures available through the coaching grapevine.
This was announced as a mutual split.
A bit of a bummer with DeFilippo out. It signifies a few things potentially for me. It could mean that they're officially no longer interested in Nick Foles as the starter for at least 2020. Which is fine and fair.

But it also makes me wonder how it'll effect Gardner Minshew's 2nd year. But, now I am wondering if they're not quite dead set on the QB position at all and depending on the next hire they could very well be eyeing one of these damn QB prospects in April as a potential starter.

Surprised Wash hasn't been fired yet.
(01-13-2020, 12:13 PM)Ordar Wrote: [ -> ]A bit surprised. Surely means that Foles is off aswell, as that was the main reason to get Flip?

Amazed he went before Wash

maybe not THIS extreme, but at least we aren't looking to cater an offense to his skillset. Foles can certainly act as backup, albeit an expensive one, without further crippling our cap with yet another cut and replace job. I don't see us rolling with Shew and Dobbs as the only options.

I have a feeling it's a repeat of Minny - they wanted to focus on the run, and he wants to run four verts.

How in the hell does wash still have a job. I thought our offense wasn’t great but I was hardly as upset with them as I was the D.

He must have some footage of Marrone eating bologna out of his wife's shoes or something degrading at this point. Not sure.

The defense was way more inferior in 2019 than the offense was at historic levels. The lack of discipline in the running game was atrocious. Not sure how you get away from that.

Even when this defense was peaking with top tier talent across all three levels of defense in 2017 he STILL struggled against certain schemes and QB's in spite of having easy QB's to game plan against.

And some of those players have ALWAYS been vocal about his [BLEEP] box approach to the game since he's been the DC.

Pretty shocked. Others deserve to go first.

Truth.

DC and OL coach need to be GONE.
Any rumors or tweets suggesting there could be more? Just really a bummer if Wash stays.

Nothing breaking yet.

I'm waiting and will react with my dollars. If Wash is still here, I doubt I will be in the stands anymore.

Probably [BLEEP] hiring Mike Groh now from Philadelphia who was just fired.

He's somewhat plugged in. He's a co-host/regular guest on T-Wiggs podcast.

Mississippi State might have something to say about that.
Perhaps the buckle up part is just that Wash will still be DC
