Quote:No thank you. We need a Todd Haley that can help Bortles and change the culture of this team.
You do remember how things went for Haley in KC, right?
Quote:Lovie smith or Mike smith. One of the two will be the next head coach

For the love of god please not Lovie
Quote:Telvin could play next to Jack as an ILB in a 3-4. He may be a bit undersized, but I don't think he'd have a problem. There's a roll for him in a 3-4
No no no.

Why? His team's were consistently competitive and he took them to a superbowl with rex freaking grossman

That's also the danger of hiring Jim Schwartz as Head Coach.

Some coaches learn from their mistakes.  Others don't.   I'm not as aware ( or recall )  the small details of what happened with Todd Haley in Kansas City.  But with Schwartz,  his personality is conducive with erratic play.
Hire an offensive minded coach who's smart enough to hire a competent DC and give him control of the defense.

Too much talent on this team not to lure a quality HC and DC.
I don't even care. It's [BLEEP] week 4 and we're talking coaching hires.

This [BLEEP] sucks.
Mike Smith, but he plays vanilla cover 2 zone JDR defense, yuck
I do not have a great feeling about Smith as our HC for some reason.

Did you not see his TB tenure? He's a slightly better Gus. Brings in "his guys" who either suck, or are way past their prime, and plays ancient soft zone cover 2. No thanks.
I like Mike Smith, but he's not the type of coach we need. He runs a very conservative 4-3 defense... we need someone creative and aggressive. Whether that is some one like Jim Schwartz or the DC from Arizona. Jim Schwartz would kill with the talent we have on defense... I would just worry about the type of offensive staff he would put together.
God no!

If the organization rewards the fans' devotion and loyalty with Mike Smith after enduring a half decade of Gus Bradley I may have light myself on fire.
Quote:I don't care if the're a 'defensive' or 'offensive' minded coach. We always ping pong back and forth thinking it's going to make some kind of a difference, just get a good coach.

Amen
Was Doug Pedersen a sexy coaching hire? Not really. Still 3-0 with a rookie QB.

Unless Jim Schwartz learns from his stay with the Lions,  I don't think he would be a good fit for Blake Bortles.  Schwartz's Offensive Coordinator for his 5 seasons in Detroit was Scott Linehan,  who frequently worked with the QBs.   Though from a strategy/ play calling standpoint I thought Linehan was creative and did a good overall job,  the attention to detail with Matthew Stafford's mechanics caused many problems.  Even beyond the necessity at times to throw in awkward positions.
No more Coordinators with no experience please. Need a coach with some cojones! Whoever has the biggest cojones gets to be the HC!

That's much better than the horse [BLEEP] LEO OTTO LOTTO SKOTTO scheme bobblehead Gus is running.

true, we made the playoffs with the JDR D

Yes let's take our two best free-roaming players and have them take on OL head on. Come on guys.

If we're running a 3-4, we'll have 3 down guys vs. 5 OL. If Smith and Jack are playing ILB, they are going to have to contend with the blocks of much bigger guards and centers. This is just not going to work. Just wait for Jack to get a full grasp of MLB and we have ourselves a perfect Cover 2 MLB.
