There are a number of offensive coordinators around the league who play larger receivers in the slot and get tons of production that way.

Regardless of how you feel about Jefferson, I don't buy into the pigeonholing of him or Westbrook to slot work. Let Gruden and McCardell sort that out.
Dede actually translates better to the Z position in the first place - and I'm praying Gruden sees that. Just because Westbrook is tough taking licks over the middle - doesn't mean that's the best place for his skillset.

I was referring to Juedy.
What about Denziel Mims in the 2nd round instead?

With everyone lauding the depth of the WR class and the number of needs on the team, it just seems like first round pick for WR does not maximize resources.
If we do take a WR at 9 I just hope its Lamb
I am still on the Jeudy bandwagon, but I will admit I know less about Lamb. It just seems like he was always going against poor defenses from what I could tell. However, that may simply be I did not watch him play enough.

I'd have no problems with Jeudy at #9. His skill set is going to translate instantly into the NFL.

Lamb is really good at running after the catch/with the ball in his hands. He broke a bunch of tackles in College.

Jeudy is being compared to Marvin Harrison and Lamb draws the Hopkins comp.

I’m ok with either!

I would love it, but he's going in the first round or top of the 2nd.
It would be really nice if we could end up with another second round pick from trading Yannick that could then be packaged with some of our later picks to sneak back into the late first round for third round one pick.

Jags aren't trading Yan for anything less than a 1st rounder.  So yes, the Jags will have three 1st rounders this year.  Four if they move up from the 2nd round.

To me, the strange thing about Lamb is as great as he is after the catch, he doesn't seem to get a ton of separation running his routes.

Even though he does not have blazing speed, you would think with this change of direction, he would get more separation running his routes.
When I hear about Lamb, it just makes me think back to Reggie Williams.
I would be ecstatic if we got Jeudy or Lamb. Ruggs is a distant 3rd for me.

Any of them are worth drafting at 20, but I hope they are all gone before the Jags pick. The quality at DT and CB drops off quickly, while there are still plenty of very good receivers we could draft later.

I agree 100% on CB. I feel we have to get one with our first two picks to insure we get one worthy of being a quality starter.
I agree with the argument that you can get a very good WR in rounds 2 and 3.

But if you feel you can best improve your offensive line with a guard, that a DT and CB can be picked up later and that you are pretty much set at LB, then is picking Lamb or Jeudy at nine going to be the biggest upgrade possible? (With the most immediate impact)

Maybe that’s how Caldwell and the team feel right now.

That's what they say.

Personally, I would trade him for an early 2nd round pick or something equivalent.

But back to WR, it's awfully tempting to take one of the top guys like Lamb or Jeudy, but with the depth in this year's class, I think I would be disciplined and wait for round 2.

I like his explosiveness.  Reminds me of Antonio Brown (without the baggage at this point in time)
I think we take Justin Jefferson at 20

Kinda like TO to me with his size and strength.  Maybe not quite the deep threat as TO was but he has the speed to be that guy and has quickness
Not to mention Jeudy was a slot guy and taking a slot guy in the top 10 is a bit high. He also had Ruggs and Smith on the edges
