RED: He was impeding the progress of officers who were enforcing a curfew, and pushing his cell phone at an officer in a manner that implied an attempt to intercept police transmissions via bluetooth, something taught to foreign agents (see picture below). Something illegal.
GREEN: He was treated by medics following the police line seconds after they passed. Funny how the Marxist media doesn't show that part.
Did the cops use to much force when pushing him away. In retrospect yes, but it's hard to calibrate just how much force to use in such a situation. It's not like they've had years of practice pushing away old men who refuse to move when ordered.

Okay, here's what it looked like to me: the police were trying to clear the street, he was refusing to move, and a police officer gave him a
fairly gentle push, which in most circumstances would cause the pushee to take step backward, but this guy tripped and fell backwards and hit his head on the concrete.
It didn't look like that much of a push to me, and certainly not one designed to injure someone.
