It does come across that way in isolated chunks, but we don't know what the context of this tidbit within the class as a whole was. Was it presented as a call to action, or was it presented more like the way a European history professor would present Mein Kampf?

I have no doubt that the white employees targeted with this message took it with a grain of salt, they'd have too much of a sense of pride not to.  Nobody believes everything they are told.

That said, everyone should discipline their own mind.  The base instinct is to reject new info you find uncomfortable.  We do have to work on that.  Matt Inman at the Oatmeal wrote a good comic on this. https://theoatmeal.com/comics/believe

I don't have kids so no worries there. And they are not pontificating on anything, they're straight up telling you your "whiteness" is a problem and you need to fix it. I have issues, sure, but my "whiteness" isn't one of them. Whatever that even means.
