They have shown videos of these Republicans mingling at this gathering to celebrate Barrett's nomination in the Rose Garden. Two Senators who attended have subsequently tested positive as well as Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin. Johnson did not attend which does not bode well for the other Republican Senators who typically attend the weekly lunch meetings held by Senate Republicans. Despite Mitch McConnell's and Lindsey Graham's efforts to rush this nomination through, it appears that there are stronger forces in play that do not want this to happen.

Exactly. I think they'll get her in during the lame duck session, but it seems God wants Barrett to miss oral arguments on the Obamacare case that are scheduled for November 10th...

Did those “stronger forces” also open up Ginsburg‘s seat or do they only affect Republicans?
CNN pushing the narrative that Trump possibly knew he was contagious yet continued to meet with people. Now they're saying "a source familiar with the President's health" told them that his condition is much worse than being divulged and that his path to recovery is not clear. No one's name is on "the source".

CNN saying Trump's doctors are lying about his condition and his health.

If you told people back in 2010 that RBG was going to pass away in 2020, none of them would have been surprised.
If you told them that, in 2020, votes in the Senate would be disrupted by a plague, and that only one party was catching that plague, they would not believe you.

Well to be fair, the president’s team of doctors just spoke and they were pretty evasive when asked direct questions. Specifically about whether or not he’s received oxygen, whether or not he’s taken steroids, how high was his fever, and when he first tested positive. If the doctors aren’t being transparent, it leaves room for speculation and “sources” to fill in the blanks.

The Devil did that one.

They said he was not on oxygen Thursday, Friday or today. The steroids question was fired off after the doctor left the podium. However, he did state that he didn't want to go into when Trump last tested negative. That was a little eyebrow raising.
There's always room for reaching speculation, I guess, but CNN states them with an assuredness as if they're hard facts. It's CNN, that's really all there is to say. I sure do miss the old CNN, though. Now they're just tabloid TV and I still struggle a little sometimes relating the current network with the old news powerhouse.

Actually, I'm glad you asked this question. I should have phrased this as a question rather than a statement that there were stronger forces." Although we all may wonder what the man (or woman) upstairs actually would approve or disapprove of, no one really knows. RBG died of complications from cancer at the age of 87. She reportedly did everything in her power to live a long life, including having a personal trainer in her 80's. The Senators (and others) at the Rose Garden ceremony who have contracted the virus likely were infeected due to not wearing a mask. This had nothing to do with "stronger forces." We are all given free will and must live with the decisions we make. If any of these people die from this, it will be primarily due to that bad choice. The same goes for the hearings; if they must be delayed this will also be caused primarily by the same bad choice.

He almost certainly had it at the debate but we don't know when exactly he was exposed.

Absolutely right.
Nonetheless, the Senate is not going to change its schedule.  Mitch says they'll do virtual meetings.

One of the side effects is respiratory distress and at his age it would exacerbate the problem.

"Gotten sick" from it is a different question than "tested positive" for it.

The first, a few...the latter, dozens.

Meh, I chalk that up to people who have mental illness and can’t rationalize where to draw the line.

Essy there Tarkin.
The White House is now saying the next 48 hours are critical. This thing is starting to get serious.

Good article. Thanks for sharing.
You have to appreciate the irony that China coordinated the release of this virus in order for Trump to not be reelected and now him getting the virus will end up securing his reelection.

Teflon Trump? Get well POTUS!

Did the White House say that or did CNN’s “sources” say that? Either way, it’s like they want to twist everything. One side says he fakes it and another is saying he’s critical. That’s all fear-mongering and wordplay. They said the next 48 are critical, not that he’s critical.

It was CBS evening news.

I forget where I saw it, but I think it was more speculation than any issue being there. Basically he was in the window where you either get better or get worse. There was also some supposed leak that on Friday he needed oxygen.

It sounds like he had a brief 24-48 rough period with a fever and other symptoms, then like most people the fever breaks and you recover quickly.
