Maybe he's not as incompetent as originally believed. (Still needs to go)
It took 2 months for him to figure out one of the most basic concepts in football.

After one not horrible game? LMAO, yeah, Wash is a decent DC .gif)
I put that he still needs to go and I literally started this entire thread. I've wanted Wash gone for a long long time. All I'm saying is the guy finally made an adjustment.
He's still incompetent. Just ever so slightly less-so.
One day we'll have a competent coaching staff. I don't know when. But one day, for sure!

This just highlights a large part of the issue with Wash. He made the adjustment we've all been begging for after the season's already torpedoed.
When there is skin in the game, he always goes ultra conservative, play not to lose, we'll get em in the second half defense.

Exactly. I still don't understand why some coaches seem so resistant to trying new adjustments. It was glaringly obvious to the casual fan that we needed to dial up more pressure, and so far have been proven correct in that. Why is a professional so stubborn to try it? I understand wanting "your" scheme to work, but results are more important by far. There's no possible way Wash didn't think of the idea before just last week.

Dude should have been canned 2 years ago. The fact that he is still here speaks volumes about our ineptitude as a franchise.
They are all gone either prior to or on Black Monday. There is nothing that could happen for the rest of the season to alter that IMO. Better start the search earlier rather than later considering the amount of teams that may be considering making HC changes.

They all
should be gone, but this is the Jaguars after all. Nothing is for sure. I have some to accept a certain level of incompetence, so I wouldn't be totally shocked if everyone is back in 2021.

Same. This is the Jags we're talking about. Bet your mortgage on Marrone opening 2021 as the HC lol

They still let Cowherd talk?
That is some serious throwin poo at the wall stuff there.
Also, have we seen how bad NE since losing Brady? Maybe Belichick isn't quite as good as we thought. He's made some very questionable personnel moves over the years that Brady has compensated for.
*Not saying Belichick isn't a good coach, he is. But seeing NE without Brady makes me have some reservations about him

I'll say this... they aren't very good right now but didn't they have like the most opt outs of any team for Covid?
They had top defenses the last couple years and Brady didn't look great last year in New England. I'd give Bill a bit of a pass in the short term while they retool... But I don't see Kraft firing him or letting him out of his contract or Belichick even wanting to come to Jax really.
Okay Wash is bad but where are the draft picks to fit his scheme? On other teams? Everything we do is so disjointed.

Wow....
I mean, I literally threw the part in there that he's a good coach. Just saying he's not without his own flaws and clearly benefitted greatly from Brady. That's not an outrageous statement

Ahh that opt out crap is such an excuse... They might have had the most opt outs, but most of them are just guys in this league. Easily replaceable guys. It's on Bill for being a pretty bad drafter over the years and not doing anything to replace those guys. They had time to bring in some bodies after those opt outs, but didn't. Maybe if he drafted better, they'd have some better depth behind average at best guys to begin with.
If you want to use that as an excuse, they really only had 3 meaningful opt outs and even then that's questionable.
30 year old LB Dont'a Hightower opt'd out, but hes had injures throughout his entire career, so who's to say he would of stayed healthy all season anyways. 33 year old S Patrick Chung opt'd out and 32 year old RT Marcus Cannon opt'd out. All of those guy's better days are behind them. Some people are acting like they lost super stars in the prime of their careers or something.
The other guys who opt'd out are WR Marqise Lee, RB Brandon Bolden, TE Matt Lacosse (who had 13 total receptions for them last year and only 40 receptions total in 5 years). FB Danny Vitale and an UDFA G Najee Toran who has never played a snap in the league. That's hardly a big loss from a handful of replaceable guys.
