Quote:Babich's tendencies last year are irrelevant to what Wash is calling.

Wash might actually end up being worse than Babich.
I thought the Benjamin on Poz one was a Gratz bust or a Poz playing too close to the LOS issue.

I liked the way he called the GB game. For the most part I though the SD game was mostly execution and getting gashed in the run. Granted you had the one play with Benjamin on Poz that was a significant issue with the play called. Rivers got 3/4 of his yards on 3 plays 2 of which were completely busted coverages by the players and the third was a straight run by the WR. For the most part its easy to see the defense is significantly better.

Sick
Though I respect Todd Wash's candor with # 7, I think he would have been better off taking responsibility for the play and overall Defensive performance w/o going into any detail. This is one time in particular that ' coach speak' would have been the better option,
Anyone catch McCoy talking to his OC against us on NFLN Week 2 Sounds of the Game (or whatever they call it)?

Something to the effect of.. nice game plan.. ripped right through them.

That was troublesome.

Yeah I thought we looked like an NFL defense against the Packers and then took a huge step back against the Chargers. Although the Packers performance was more the Packers playing poorly than us doing anything very well.

What worrys me the most is the fact that Wash has Poz schemed to be in man coverage against slot reciecers. How does that come about?

Also the fact that he is seemingly unable to play Jack. Babich at least had minimal talent to work with as an excuse.

Do you honestly think the Chargers only looked at the tape from the Green Bay game to formulate their game plan? If what knarnn said about the coaching staff here going back 8 games to scout tendencies is true, you don't think the Chargers did at least that much?

He kills us with those quotes.

A couple of years ago, the mics caught him saying "call whatever you want. They can't cover us."

No different than what we do or any other professional team. There is nothing "special" about our tendencies especially considering we have a new DC.

3. Gus Bradley: “The yards per attempt or yards per carry with a guy like T.J. Yeldon is up there pretty decent.”

T.J. Yeldon is averaging 2.4 yards per carry. That’s good for 43rd out of 45 running backs who qualify for yards-per-carry stats.

I've wanted Gus to succeed for a long time, he has a great leadership quality about him, that players clearly like.

BUT, his interviews recently have been tense, his body language is different. I think he knows it's on him.

He's just inconsistent with his "standard", you can't say intensely that WE SHOULDVE won the game after GB and then after SD say "oh well we did some things, what a great great oportunny to learn".

That being said I'm going to give him 2 more games of my constantly dwindling support. If things get outta hand like SD then he should get the boot at the bye week.
Just wow!

The players liking him and "leadership" qualities are not related at all in this case. As a matter of fact, most good leaders are not necessarily liked but they are respected.

Great point. I was just hoping that players coach thing would really work. But, it clearly has not.
Gus Bradley is a walking dumb [BLEEP] quote.
The funny part is when Gus was talking about insanity and doing the same thing over and over. He then goes on to say he's gonna stay the course and he believes in this process. LOL. The dope is too dopey to realize he contradicted himself. He sounds so stupid.
Good God...we are going to get blown out again Sunday. These two "buddies" do not have a clue how to coach NFL players. They are lost, and Gus should not have been able to hire his friend from Southern North Dakota Eastern Aggies State. I can't believe what they are saying. On Big Cat Country you still have apologists saying that Ryan (the writer) was just complaining for no reason. Stockholm syndrome at its finest around here.

Quote:With due respect, Speedy, I disagree.

For three years, I have steadfastly given Bradley, et al, the benefit of the doubt throughout this rebuild. I have eschewed the torch and pitchfork approach to fandom throughout my tenure here.

Though the results have been horrific, I have specifically avoided looking for something to complain about because I knew how deficient the roster was in talent.

Now, this roster has talent. You could argue the defense still has room to mature and fully grasp the scheme, but the talent is there now.

I could understand a competitive loss in San Diego. For them to lay the egg they did in San Diego was inexcusable, and for me, brings the quality of coaching into legitimate question.

Welcome to the dark side. We have bacon.

I hope that's true but I have my doubts. The Jags are still playing everyone back 10 yards except the DL on 3rd and long.
