The Gus Bradley Coaching Tree (Gus - Babich - Wash - Fisch)

Funny thing is Rich Kotite has a beter coaching record than Gus.  Of course it doesn't hurt to inherit Budy Ryans talent Big Grin

PHI

1991 (10-6)

1992 (11-5)

1993 (8-8)  Loss of Buddy Talent

1994 (7-9)

NYJ

1995 (3-13)

1996 (1-15)

It is sad to be in historically bad territory with our team.

I actually laughed out loud. God help this franchise...
Quote:This organization is run by bozos. I don't even think I can bash the "bad" players here anymore when Gus is in charge of developing them. Guys like Gratz and Cyprien were probably ruined by this clown.
This is something I've been thinking about. We have good players. We have some really good players, but no one can do their jobs effectively and efficiently if the coaches are hamstringing them and I think that's what is happening here. It seems like Gus has a specific way of coaching and that's all there is. He doesn't coach to the player's strengths, he coaches what he knows. Period. As a defensive coordinator that may have been great but as a head coach you have to adapt every season to new players not just on your team, but every team you play that season. There is no 'give'.

Look at what Belichick has done with the Patriots. I can't stand the guy but right now they are down to their 3rd string QB and still pulls off a win. No- a shutout. Players can only do so much. If you have bad coaches then you're going to suck no matter what.
Quote:BUT, his interviews recently have been tense, his body language is different. I think he knows it's on him.

He's the freaking coach, of course it's on him. The fact that he might actually think otherwise is frightening.
Quote:I just can't believe he wasn't fired on Monday or Tuesday....
As much as everyone wants gus gone, I doubt he is fired until the end of the season

He won't make it through the bye if/when he's 0-4.

I don't think he will get fired until the end of the season...I don't think Khan will fire him during the season...He has this season to turn this thing around...If he doesn't, he's gone the day after the Jags last game of the season

Man I hope so. I'm ready for this season to be over already so we can move on. Another lost year.

Shads son is dating gus daughter. He will never be fired.
Gus ain't turning this thing around. We need to get rid of his losing ways as soon as possible. I get waiting until the bye but that's the latest it should happen.

Good guy and I wish him the best at his next stop but he's not a good coach. Wash and Olson can go along with him.

You know how Mularkey ended up with the Titans? I am PRAYING Gus gets picked up by the Texans or Colts as a HC. It is the only way to make things right.
I haven't read through this entire thread but listening to the coaches/players talk for the first 2 weeks, I'm hearing a lot of "well we weren't lined up correctly", "We were mis-aligned", etc..This goes not only for the defense but for the offense as well. On 1010xl they quoted Olson as saying a WR wasn't lined up properly on the infamous screen pass with 9 seconds left.

What the hell were these coaches doing all offseason? High school JV teams don't have the alignment problems that we do. Between that and the penalties those are 2 clear examples of a failing coaching staff.

And the sweeping the corners quote is by the far one of the worst things I've ever heard in sports...and I dealt with Al Golden at Miami for years.
While no fan of the coaching, I don't see anything that bad said?

The TJ Yeldon thing kind of makes sense if he means he got 4 yards a carry in that game rather than overall.

IF the Jags win this Sunday, I guarantee you before the dance party begins on Jaguars.com we will see a video where Gus says something like "Hey man, we talked about it all week man. Talked about sweeping the corners man! Well you guys sweeped the corners! Yeah man, dance man!" It is so depressing lol. Sweep the corners... what a joke. Why is a high school janitor the head coach?

I believe if we're 0-4 after London, he will be gone, but one thing for sure.....if by some miracle he's still arouund... The 'Stache will have somebody lined up by the vikings game. We'll be watching the jet.

The deadliest game... Lol
If we do start off 0-4, and Gus is not fired, the season is pretty much over and once again we'll be looking forward to the draft with no hopes for the playoffs by October.  Almost certainly we'll be looking at another top 5 pick, likely top 3.

It's already apparent that we're not a playoff team, maybe we get lucky a few times and can finish 4-12 or 5-11.

I can't get excited about what the Jaguars will do on gameday anymore because of the clowns on our coaching staff.
