Marrone is a nice guy, but he was over his head as a head coach. Hes a good o-line coach maybe. He got way too much time. He should have been out after the 2019 season.
SUBERBOWLLLLLLLLL!
He is a good guy. But it was time. Excited for a fresh start.

I agree.
Best of luck Doug. Pretty sure he will look better on a better team.

Moving on from Marrone made me smile.  This ^ made me laugh
Best loser coach, eva..
Doug was a decent coach. If he wouldn't have gotten scared and tightened everything up in the AFC championship game and went to the "let's not lose" game plan he'd probably still be the coach right now and might be a Superbowl winning coach.

The biggest problem Marrone had was that he wasn't the kind of guy that made bold moves. (Though he'd probably tell it as not having a franchise qb) It's also why Wash is still here. With Trevor, Doug could probably win a lot of games, but it's still better to try to find a great coach than to stick with someone that clearly doesn't have the right stuff.
Ding Dong Bolognas Gone!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Khan has finally listened to the fans about this. Yeah I believe in giving everyone every chance they deserve but, after 4 years of losing, the fans wanted Marrone's head on a pike.
Finally, now it remains to be seen what Khan does with this "clean slate."
And please leave Tony in the wrestling side of things.

But, in hindsight. If he was let go then, we never would have gotten the rights to draft Lawrence. So it all works out.

That said, it was time for a clean slate and a new era.  It was the right move, but I expect Marrone to be successful elsewhere.

That is debatable. He seemed to wishy washy to me and he was too loyal to bad coaches who needed to be fired.
I'm shocked...shocked.   Rolleyes

Yes, thats true. Sometimes something really bad can turn into something really good.
Good guy. Better coach then he's sometimes given credit for but this was overdue. As they say, "best of luck in your future endeavors". The statement Khan issued sounded like no decision had been made on a coach yet but did sound like the search for a coach and GM are independent which is a mistake.
Have they said anything about the assistants?
one of the greatest days in jaguars history. now just get a GM and coach who actually has NFL experience

aren't the assistants employed by the HC  meaning that even if they're technically still there they're dead men walking until the new HC gets his people in.
