My expectations is an above average starting QB. What about you, anyone else?

He's gonna build us a shiny new stadium, find gold in the St. John's river and throw eleventy billion touchdowns in his first season game.

Anything less is justification to fire the GM, HC, owner, and mayor.

Well it's Jaguar Fan so after his first pick, they'll call him a bust and be wondering if we can get a 5th rounder for him somewhere.

Congratulations on winning the race to #1. There’s a lot of talk on the Jets forum as to what the Jags are going to do, and whether the HC search was going to potentially influence the pick being Fields and not Lawrence.

I was just curious as to what you guys thought, and whether you think it’s a sure fire thing (as the NFL beat writers believe) that Lawrence ends up at the Jags.

Good luck next season.

Excepting a very few (Andy Luck comes to mind), there are rarely any certainties when it comes to the first pick. If Fields repeats his bowl of sugar performance, there may be debate among the pundits. If someone offers us an RGIII-caliber offer, we might be willing to drop a few spots to take the #2 or #3 QB, if they are all graded similarly. If your Head Coach requires a specific type of QB, though, I don't think he's that great of a coach, and that is already going to set your franchise back a bit.

I'd still say he's the most pro-ready of the top prospects this year, but the good news for the other teams in the top 5 is that the gap between the top QB and the next few is not as significant as it was last year. That may be saying more about the top 2 or 3 in this draft, though.
I feel like when GMs and coaches are doing their interviews with Khan, one of his questions are who would you take with the number 1 pick. If one says anybody other than TL, I dont think Khan would hire them and takes them off the list

This trophy could very well make it's way down here to Jax in the near future.

@You honestly think we'll be hosting another superb owl after the last debacle??@

I kid, I kid.

If I were the Jets, I'd easily select Zach Wilson. I have him on par with Lawrence. Draft him and give him another receiver, a RB and another O-Linemen or two, a good Offensive Coordinator and I believe the Jets will be just fine for the future. Before the Jags got into the #1 position, I was clamoring for us to take Wilson. I believe he and Lawrence are gonna be stars.

It's either or for me. I don't particularly mind Fields or Wilson, both have had better 2020 collegiate seasons than Lawrence (mind you, so have Mac Jones and Kyle Trask). That's not a slight on the ability of Lawrence though, I wouldn't blame him if he checked out a little bit - Etienne's numbers also dropped so it might just be a Clemson thing.

I've heard character issues are a concern for Wilson. But I'll support whoever our new HC wants.
My expectations are that Lawrence will struggle his rookie year, but his good play will far outweigh the bad. He will show plenty of flashes and make exciting plays, but there will be a learning curve. If we can add a better piece to our O-line, ditch Cann, add a quality D lineman and a better free safety, I think we will be in the 7-9 to 10-6 range.
I think Lawrence could have a Joe Burrow type of rookie year without the injury. I think he’s more mobile than Burrow. I also think Lawrence has a stronger arm too.

Burrow's main weapon is between his ears. That guy stays cool, calm and razor sharp no matter what, which will take him further into a career than a set of legs. I only hope TL has the mental acuity of Burrow.
Well, does he participate in the combine?

Because I feel like if he does, he can only hurt his stock..

If he's a competitor, he will at least throw.
Doubtful, we'll have him under contract by then.

He played his last year when most of the other great prospect sat out this year when would would of most likely been the number 1 pick regardless.  That tells you all you need to know about his competitiveness.  He has nothing to prove by throwing in shorts
