Quote:Just for giggles..if we get the first overall pick, who do we select?
BAP
I think we're past the point of drafting needs. Cyprien sucks, I want a new SS, but if a player like Leonard Fournette or in past drafts, Leonard William is available, just take them off the board. They'll be a good player for your football team.

Caldwell is a needs drafter.
Quote:Remember Del Rio won that meaningless game against Indy to hand them the 1st pick and get Luck?

Stroke of genius, Colts haven't been as good ever since and helped them get rid of a hall of famer
I would say RB is our biggest need on offense right now.

And oddly LB is our biggest need on defense.
Quote:You know, I'm hoping you're actually Tyler1, but you're just a fan right?

Lol yeah I'm not actually him.
They better not lose.  I will be [BLEEP] pissed...

I'll still be watching this train wreck of a team on Sunday. Do I expect to win? Not really. Still... go jags.
Quote:No way! Really? Fournett wouldn't help?

Or how about a LT or another defensive player.

I wouldn't go QB

I'm just saying that if we are selecting #1 overall, it's because BB5 has regressed into bust status.  If we get the BB5 that played in San Diego for the next 14 games, I'm pretty sure he's a bust and it's time to start looking at getting your franchise QB.

I'm not saying that he's gonna be a bust.  But he played terribly yesterday.  Bad mechanics, horrible accuracy, bad decision making.  14 more games like that, and you gotta go out and redraft your franchise QB.  That's what normal NFL teams do...
Quote:There's a 76% chance you'll be happy, but wanting the team you love to lose week 3 indicates you are a terrible fan.
What is your definition of a terrible fan? Is it that he goes to EVERY home game for 22 years, follows the team as much during the off-season for free agency and the draft with the hope they will start winning again, gets extremely upset after thinking they have turned it around only to lose to the packers when they should have won, and the most depressing moment of his life other than the death of family was when they lost to the Titans in 1999? If the answer is "yes," Kotite or who-ever you are then I guess you are correct!
We hope they win but we expect they'll lose. Just cause we have hope. What a crazy stat that we are 0-9 when Blake throws for over 300 yards. I want to complain about hope injustice. Does anybody think that Baltimore won't see film where our D coach has Paul try to cover a running back cutting across the field or cover a WR cutting across already having a speed advantage. Hope Todd doesn't think that mess is going to work. Is Myles Jack gonna play more than a quarter. Jalen is a stub and he will be too if they let him play.

Let's be real though. He ain't gonna be that bad 14 more times.

If we give up 30 points per week, we could very well have the first pick.

We need a beast at RB
Quote:It's an indifferent game. I'll watch as I always do. But it's more like rubber necking a car crash on the highway....

Gus is the problem. We've identified it. A smart manager would cut out the problem the moment it's been recognized.

Hoping they have recognized it and no matter the outcome the rest of the season he's gone.
Gus is like Chunk on The Goonies. He doesn't intentionally try to break things, it just happens naturally.

Thank you. You get it. Sometimes a fan needs to look more at the long-term than just 1 game and you have given an excellent example. I know Luck got hurt last year and played poorly yesterday, but he will be a true franchise q.b. for our hated rival.

I hope it doesn't but man he has these games where he is straight awful. Je could regress and maybe a new coach can fix it or they go a different direction drafting a new.

If Caldwell gets fired, new regime would want a new qb. I don't think Caldwell gets fired... he gets one more opportunity to get the head coach right.

I'm invested plenty too and have my name on the All Pro wall at the stadium even though I was not in Jax when the franchise was first awarded. I have felt the rage and frustration many have felt. But you HAVE to want to win with 14 weeks left. Otherwise you are already in the off-season mode when there is still plenty of time to turn it around. Why invest so much all year long to give up week 2? If the writing is on the wall week 14, I don't blame people for that "must lose" wish. If Gus stays on this trajectory you will get your wish and he will be gone. Til then, try to stay positive as we face almost certain disappointment again this weekend.

Yeah he should definitely get another shot at finding the right coach.
I don't think Caldwell gets fired at all. Even if he sucks at picking the next coach, he stays if he continues to bring in talent. Shad Khan and Caldwell work together on hiring the coach.
