Roy Miller and Abry Jones would be decently capable in that role I think.
Why does the MIKE LB have to be the one to call the defensive plays and audibles as well as get people lined up? Why can't you have another position like the WILL, SAM, or SS do that?

Wouldn't that allow Jack to just get on the field and just concentrate on his job while putting the responsibilities on more veteran players (Telvin, Cyprien, Gipshon, etc.) who may be better at perform that role than a rookie?
Quote:So I have a basic question that may stupid. Why does Poz as the Mike LB have to be the one to call the defensive plays and audibles as well as get people lined up?

Why can't you the WILL (Telvin) or the SS (who is in the Box most of the time anyways) do that?

The reason I bring this up is that they keep mention how Jack is having difficult with the mental parts of "being the MIKE". So if they could give those responsibilities to players who have been here a while or other veterans, it would take load off of Jack to just play his position.

I wonder the same thing but then I remember the next most logical position to do it would be SS and well...

Sure most often would SS and Cyprien is sometimes lost himself. But why can't Telvin do it at WILL?

He has been the most consistent defensive player this year, and has been in this variation of the system for 3 years now. Plus he already seems to want to be a leader when given the opportunity.

I never understood why they had to teach Jack all that depth especially in a accelerated time frame given he was forced to miss all the OTA's.

Yeah, I wonder the same thing.
