I think both teams are gonna look like they are still trying to sort things out. Moments of good will surface, but in all it will probably be a bit sloppy still.

A lot is going to depend on how many of the OL are gonna be able to play through what kept them sidelined in the preseason.

I kinda hope they lean on the run game this week, but also doubt that they do.

Win or lose, I don't really care, it will just be good to see actual games back underway.

We need to block Mercilus.
All of the turnover on this team and a new staff makes it really difficult to imagine how this will go. I suspect our defense may fare pretty well against the tinhorns given the trials they've faced lately. I predict Trevor and company will have some rough moments but we should be able to pull this out by 10. Wouldn't be surprised if people were predicting it to go almost the exact opposite though
Jaguars will win by 10 points. Robinson scores two t.d.'s and gains 120 yards.
I do think we win but with so much turn around and so much youth it wouldn't be uncommon to take a little time to start clicking. You can say what you want about the Texans but if all their players are heathy they do have a bunch of proven vets
I know hes not been as dominant in recent years but it will be nice not having to worry about JJ Watt for once.

Is Watson definitely done in Houston? No chance they throw him out there even to try and get someone to trade for him?
Jags win this one BIG!!! 42-10, tinhorns go down.

The Texans are THAT bad.

I agree this first game will tell a whole lot of how the season will go.
Biggest game of the year so far.
No matter what happens, I think we should all jump to conclusions.
I think I have the Jags on this one. The Texans just seem like a dumpster fire.

This should be a solid barometer of how good we currently are. The Texans are terrible. They have no QB, receivers or defense. If we can concentrate on stopping the run and make Tyrod Taylor beat us through the air, we should be o.k. We just need to make sure we have 2 guys on Brandin Cooks. He's basically their only receiver whose worth anything. We also need to keep an eye on Phillip Lindsey as a receiver out of the backfield. If he is on the field, our linebackers need to stay home and contain him, so he can't do any damage via screen passes. What does worry me is that Houston has a pretty decent O-Line and our pass rush has been non-existent. I'm not expecting much from us in the line of QB pressures, but we'll have to see what happens. On paper, this is the easiest game we'll have all season, so if we screw this up........................

Actually this post says more about you than Meyer, win or lose.

You don't put 2 people on Cooks.  You have CJ Henderson mirror him all day.  If he starts having a problem with Cooks then give him some help.  Starting out though you have CJ follow him and see what he can do and I think he will do just fine
I see the Jags win this game 31-24

-Lawrence throws tor 2TDs while also losing a fumble. Taylor gets beat bad on the play

-Jags Rush Defense does their job while lack of pass rush struggles to control the Passing Game. Tyrod Taylor despite being lackluster burns us for over 300yds

-James Robinson with over 125 yds and 2tds

-Book it

There will be no excuses if they lose week 1 to them.

I guess you havent watched this league enough to know that any given Sunday, not to mention they haven't even played a game and it's a rookie QB and rookie head coach's first game and it's on the road.  There is never any excuses regardless, we won the first and only game last year against a playoff team.  Did you the the Jets would beat the Rams last year?  I guess the Rams were horrible last year.  It's a 2.5 point spread, if it were such a miss match the spread would be much larger.  The strength of their team is the run game so hopefully we can stop the run

They also must not know much about Jags history.  How many times have we lost games that we should of won?  Too many is the answer.  We play bad against poor teams.
20 - 13 Jags
I think the jaguars will probably win by a decent amount, but only because the Texans are a team without much talent, and nothing to speak of at QB. I expect most games probably won't seem as easy as the Texans game is likely to be.

I'm thinking something like 27-9 with Trevor tossing a couple of first half TDs and the team mostly working to run out the clock in the second half.
