No...what the hell are you NOT talking about...

In the 21st century its not about 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Though giving Robinson credit he is more like 4-8 yards. Which is great...but you need a back that pretty regularly pops out for 20, 30, 40 yards.

You know a Fred Taylor type. The reason Urban drafted Etienne.

Especially against zone defense.

Okay, that explains it. You're posting in the wrong thread.

Fred  Taylor and then MOJO were really special and under appreciated. You know he is rare right? Robinson a work horse is the norm. Yes some teams have dynamic backs that perform like you suggest but they are in hybrid systems.

A Fred Taylor type LOL.. Because those kind of talents come around all the time huh? We haven't seen a Fred Taylor type since Adrian Peterson.

Apparently not only has Urban not watched any of the previous Robinson games but you missed then as well. Hey he was selected as a top player in the off season but now he is just an *OR*

Longest rush?
Number of runs over 20 yards?

He's a good back long as you have a number 2 back who is the lightning.

I believe Jim brown and Barry sanders are the only two backs to average 5 for a career. Gold standard is 4.0 lol.

But your point remains. We ran well when we did run.

Your explanation proves my point exactly; 4.0 is a pro standard, 5.0 is the best of the best.

Yes he is the "norm" = nothing special.

They matter as much as his bench press, 3 cone, and daily caloric intake stats, ie not at all. He's 4.5 ypc on 240 carries with 10 total TDs in 14 games. That's what matters. It's ok man, you can just admit you made a bad call and took your lumps.

On a 1-15 team with a below average O-line and awful QB play... as an undrafted rookie...

Totally a guy you don't want on the field.

With every game plan to stop him.

In your list of backs, none of them are like Fred Taylor. Take away playing us 2x a year and Henry's long runs are diminished.  Lol
For the live if anything holy...keep Wingard off the field!!!!

How last years dominant scorer can be ignored certainly is a head scratcher.   Huh
Didn't our OC get run out of town because he didn't run the ball enough?

Meyer was bad and he should feel bad.

I don't see him being one and done.  Even Spurrier lasted two seasons.

That said:

1.  It is still quite early and he DID take over a 1-15 team.  There will likely be another 4-5 weeks of adjustment.

2.  On the bright side, if he leaves immediately after this year, we're at least in a position to pursue Pederson.
It's difficult to believe people are already talking about Meyer leaving after one game. Good gravy, he's just coached his first NFL game, give him a chance to adjust.

The problem is so many folks were wearing Trevor Lawrence glasses that they forgot about the rest of the team coming off a 1-15 season with an all new staff.

New coaches+bad players+inexperienced QB=rough season. We got the change we wanted from last year, let's give it time to develop.

Culley coached his first game with a far worse roster and yet severely outcoached Urban.

There were so many issues here but Shipley lays it out better than me.
