Because drunk people don't brace for impact or tense or anything. They're just wasted so they kinda just float around... it's people that see it coming, sober, that tense and then die.

Agreed; it's amazing how many drunk drivers escape horrific accidents with sometimes just bruises and cuts. As far as the physics of an auto accident are concerned, I wonder if there is any logical reason?

Cynical side of me thinks that if he gets out of jail while still young enough to play in the NFL, some team will sign him. There are no morals in the NFL as long as someone can help you win.

Except in this case it seems the woman (and her dog) died due to the fire that engulfed her car. Autopsy might prove different but that was the prevailing opinion. I'd rather die on impact than burn.

Little killed a woman by driving drunk and got 4 years probation plus community service. That was in 1998, so I expect Ruggs will get the minimum mandatory and be back on the field in a couple years.

Was Little traveling at 156 MPH?
The speed Ruggs was going at in the area where the crash happened is/should be huge in this case. There's driving intoxicated and then there's driving like a complete dumb [BLEEP] while intoxicated.
Those speeds are ridiculous for even a freeway and it's down right nuts for where the crash happened. I read that the speed limit is 45 MPH in the area where the crash happened. The crash happened near an intersection. There's absolutely no reason dude should have been going 150+ MPH on those streets.

unless the frame is also made of fiberglass, that would be my guess why the car did not disintegrate and why Ruggs is still breathing.
How fast do you think IndyCar vehicles are travelling when they smack into walls or other vehicles? Most drivers walk away unscathed, and they have a whole lot less driver compartment to cushion any impacts.
