Raiders' Ruggs in Serious Auto Accident

#1

Apparently there is 1 fatality involved.

This really sucks no matter how you see it.

I hope there are no fatalities, and I hope all survivors of this crash make complete recoveries.

There is, but players do not utilize it for a couple of possible, if illogical reasons.

1.  They don't trust their utilization of the service will be confidential, and many are fearful their use of the service will be used against them in contract negotiations.  Of course, accidents like this preclude many future negotiations.

2.  The players earn a lot of money and buy nice cars.  In their minds, what's the point in buying the nice cars if they can't drive them?  The absurdity of this mindset is self evident.

Raiders just cut him. What else can they do? He's not gonna be available for a long time. He's probably facing vehicular manslaughter charges.

Hmmph
1. Then Uber, Lyft, or Taxi.
2. This should not even be a discussion. Drive your over priced mid life crisis car at 3pm sober, not 3am drunk.
If he/they really want to waste so much money, don't buy a [BLEEP] Vette, pay for a chauffeur.

What'd Dante Stallworth get back in the day? Rich people get by. He'll serve a year get a year or two probation.
Only difference is the league is heavier handed so he may not play again the way Stallworth did

We'd be looking at closer to the 20 than the 2 for sure.

I'd estimate Ruggs net worth around 5-7M. It will be less than half of that after legal fees and civil lawsuits. I hope he has a good financial advisor.

According to this article, the prosecutor states Ruggs was going 156 MPH and had a BAC level more twice the legal limit.

Shaking my head in dismay.

This is one of many reasons why I don't drink.

156 mph and drunk at twice the legal limit. This guy needs to go to prison for the longest time allowable by law.
