Not really.
Trevor being the no-brainer pick that he was doesn't even count.
I mean, yeah… it was a no brainer pick but he still is a part of the draft class. Like if he was a bust you’d consider him the be one of the biggest factors in “worst draft class” conversation

I think when considering "best draft", you have to consider the picks that the team had to work with. We had the #1 overall pick. We had the first pick in each round. We had extra picks. We had 5 picks in the top 65. Given that, we need more than just two good players for this to rank with our best drafts. There's still time for it to change, but as of now, no, this is not one of our best drafts.

Please notice the context of the original post, which seems to of been lost entirely at this juncture lol. “If” both these players continue develop. Who knows at this time.

I still disagree. We had 5 picks in the top 65. The expectation for a player drafted that early is that they will be a starting quality player. If we only hit on 2 out 5, that's bad drafting.
Yeah, we have routinely hit on early draft picks over the past decade. Hitting on two of the most important positions in one draft would really suck compared to our typical results. Anyway, doesn’t matter really. These guys still have to prove it. Lots of football left regarding this draft class. Cisco looked pretty good today.

You are changing the debate. The question isn't whether this would be better than the recent awful results. It was whether it would be one of the Jaguars best drafts. You also want to ignore the fact that this is the
only draft in Jaguars history to have 5 picks in the top 65. In most years, they've only had two. When you have more early draft picks, you should expect better results.
Campbell is not close to Ramsey in ability, but after seeing Ramsey punch his own player in the huddle, I’ll take Campbell.

That player in 2009 was Derek Cox with 72 tackles, 11 PD and 4 INTs fwiw.
Campbell really got better as the season went on. One of the few bright spots down the stretch. A shame we didn't get to see more of Cisco and Little and their development this season.

I remember 2 of those picks. It was his first game. Vs. Colts. He ripped that TD fade out of the receivers hands. Thats the last thing I remember about the guy.

Baalke had twice the draft capital as other teams and was on the clock for all 3 days of the draft. His lack of vision and interpersonal skills made it impossible to move around the draft board to maximize his draft assets. In his one trade on draft day he got fleeced. The man is utterly incompetent at his job.
Reviving an old thread to mention Campbell's ups and downs.
On the upside, he's showing week in and week out that he can get in the hip pocket of just about any receiver you throw his way.
On the downside, he indeed still struggles to locate the ball in the air and make a play on it at times. He's doing this less than last year, but it still rears it's head.
This season - after 5 weeks - he has allowed a 55% completion rate and an average of 40 yards per game - 7 yards per target.
This ranks him near some pretty good CB1 players in the league and above most CB2's.

If he can get better at this, and I believe he can, he can be one of the top corners in the league
Campbell's been fine. If the offense did it's job early and put points on the board instead of gifting their opponents 7 turnovers in 2 games he would probably have more opportunities to make plays on the ball when the defense can actually pin it's ears back.
He'll have an opportunity this Sunday with Ryan lined up across the way.

He is as tough as they come.
Campbell is playing well BUT the one deficiency he has is that he Doesn't turn his head around to locate the ball when he's defending. He could've had three more INTs if he would've done so. This was his knock in college. Hopefully he'll make that transition.
Time Will Tell.

Even if he doesn't though, he's still very good and I won't complain with a great cover guy even if he doesn't get a lot of INTs

Learning to recognize when a receiver is tracking the ball and getting your head around should be something that can be learned and improved upon.
Not being able to put himself in a position where he could make a play would be much more concerning.
Correcting what he is struggling withe is more like fine tuning of his coverage skills.
I think he is going to develop into a really good CB.
